The girl in the trailer is not the main character?

I'd like the fact if Lightning was indeed the female lead character. It'd be a good change. Hopefully it'd be better than FFX-2 though.

I'm hoping for a male main character anyhow. ^_^
But a female main character would be a nice change too.
 
it doesnt matter i mean there a whole party characters after some time you can choose anytype of character you want
 
I kind of liked the aspect of FFXII...being able to have the main character out of the party...but then again...that takes away some of the leadership qualities.
 
I think it's just a rumor at this point in time.
I want proof too. :)

That's the line you're refering to? It was said by IGN though, not by SE. Square-Enix is quoted as saying, when the video was released, that they weren't saying whether she was or wasn't the main character. When they said that, a lot of people took it to mean she wasn't. A lot of people took it to mean she was but SE was being secretive. What it actually means is that no one but SE knows for sure. They have not let out any more information about her role in the story.

She is the main heroine in the game, making her the most important female in the game... but not neccessarily the lead character. There's a big difference. IGN though is notorious for misquoting. My guess is they're right... but they're still misquoting SE.
 
I have a feeling this game also may feature a dual-main character relationship where we will constantly debate who is the main character between the lead male and the lead female (Lightning).

a dual main character that cant i am sure of it
but you nver know after all SE is unpridictable
 
The idea isn't that farfetched ( the dual-lead idea ), you only have to look back to X to see something similair if not the same in effect. Tidus perhaps being the narratives main focus but there's no doubt in my mind that Yuna was the main character, having her own little spin-off game to seal the point.
 
FFXII is the best example of dual lead protagonists...
The story was told through Vaan's point of view, yet...had nothing to do with him for the most part...

It's actually a neat idea...
