The Gestahlian Empire vs ShinRa Inc.

Let's say Gestahl set his sights on conquering new lands, lands in the control of the ShinRa Electric Power Company. Now of course the President wouldn't take very kindly to having power taken from him, so the two powers go to war.

The Empire's army is helmed by Leo, Kefka(Narshe level of power), and Celes, and gets its normal troops as well as Magitek armor and aircraft.

ShinRa will be helmed by Zack, Sephiroth(pre nibelheim), and Genesis, and will get SOLDIER troops, robotic weapons and the Infantry.

Who takes this?

I saw this coming sooner or later....

Anyways. Lets take a look at stuff.
Shinra: Has guns, Advanced Machines, the Sister ray
Empire has: Those weird flying machines, swords, Magitek.

I think Shinra wins because of the more advanced Technology at their disposal. Guns > Swords. I'm also assuming the Proud Clod is involved because you mentioned "robotic machinery." Proud Clod > Magitek armor suits.

And Sephiroth (Pre nibelheim) > Kefka (Narshe)

Well, I think Magitek would hold off well enough against the machinery. With some constant blitz from the air craft, it could do some damage.

The SOLDIERs would be the only thing that can hold the Empire at bay though, but i thought the Empire stood a better chance..

It would be a close war, it's true the ShinRa army is much more advanced in terms of weapons and so on, but the empire also as at his disposal a lot of machines.

I think the differance makers would indeed by the SOLDIER unite, guys like Zack, Genesis and Sephiroth can basically take on an army almost by themselfes, combining that with the rest of SHINRA troops, weapons, cannons, air force and so on i believe the Empire would fall.
