What do you suppose the future of music is?

I mean, now we have techno, rap, and hip-hop, I wonder what people will come up next. So post your opinions on this. I'd like to hear what you guys will come up with.

P.S. I'm still trying to figure mine out, so I'll post later when I get that elusive idea into words.

techno rap????? WTF sounds proper crap.

well it seems like more indie bands are getting noticed nowadays which is good. pop music is a dying movement.

MTV should burn in hell

I think Country will continue to dominate until people actually get some sense, then perhaps Rock will overtake it.

Yeah.
Why's country so underrated?
Apparently it's annoying?
What's up with that? ^ *I mean the above line.*

I despise country. It is anything but underrated. Vastly overrated? I can accept that as a good answer I can.

OH, my bad, I misunderstood.
I thought you liked country.

*Takes back previous post*
But seriously, country's overrated back east?
It's quite the opposite over here in the west, everyone hates it except for me.
You belong over here, bud.

I see crap like rap becoming even more popular. Makes me sick.

You need to open your eyes. Don't knock a genre just because you dislike it, there's a lot of good rap out there.

GTFO!

Most modern-day rock annoys me beyond belief. But there's nothing wrong with some Country-Classics.

OverFJell....ITALICS ARE MINE! GTFO!

Ahem, anyway, I can't stand country. It's huge on the East Coast. And I resent the East Coast for that reason.

I agree. I wonder what they did to good 'ol rock.
Now there's heavy metal. Though there's some, I'm talking Asian rock, that are actually quite good.

But for me, it's all about the melody.

I don't mean to offend, but I don't like heavy metal.
I like the past rock more.
No offense bud.

Then why don't people like rock these days?
The other day, I heard that rock was all about "yelling, shouting, and bashing stuff"

They've never heard rock.
But wait, that's punk isn't it???

some punk music is ok the artists are usually trying to get across a political point.
back on topic it all depends what country your from in britain its all about bands like the arctic monkeys, razorlight etc that are paving the way forward. Where it seems in america that rap hip hop etc are the most popular genre
