I think you should be able to go back to Besaid, not sure cos I havent played this game in years.

You shouldv'e gotten the treasure at Besaid (and all other for that matter) the first time you go because you get a Staff for Yuna which is her best weapon for the majority of the game if you dont bother with upgrading till towards the end. Oh and remember theres TWO in Bevelle, you need both otherwise the door to Anima won't open.
 
Yea seriously I can't fight them I have 10000000000% beaten the game max chars all weapons aeons maxed all overdrives and all that jazz... so if I had the international or japanese version I would go kick all of their asses...

The only temple that you can't re-visit is the Bevelle temple. However, it is possible for you to get back into the other temples; the only problem is that to re-visit the temples of Besaid and Macalania you have to defeat the Dark Aeons Shiva and Valefor. Obviously this is a big deal as they are immense. Djose and Kilika temple can be entered without any need to beat a Dark Aeon, however.

In regards to me, I have defeated all the Dark Aeons after long and grueling months. At first I thought I would never defeat them (especially as I got wiped out by the weakest of them, Valefor). The hardest one had to be Dark Anima; he was amazingly powerful and his ridiculous HP waz annoying. The Magus Sisters looked impossible to defeat until I learned that you could battle them one-by-one. By splitting them up you can take them down easier (although you can't save it in between battles. Right now I'm training to defeat Penance who's right now seems impossible to defeat lol.
 
Dark Aeon Locations:

Valefor: Entrance to Besaid Village
Ifrit: Sanubia Desert
Shiva: Entrance to Macalania Temple
Ixion: Thunder Plains
Bahamut: Where you thought Yunalesca
Anima: Mt Gagazet (you have to summon him by performig the same trial you did with Waka inside the cave, where you had to throw the ball first)
Yojimbo: Cavern of the Stolen Fayth
Magus Sisters: Mushroom Rock Road (address the people standing in the road)

Now go and face some of the strongest foes you'll ever face!! You have been warned.
