There's one thing I'd like to say about White Mage, since when did everyone decide that she was a woman!? I'll tell you when: 8-bit theatre. Brain Clevinger invented White Mage's femininty and everyone just went with it.
Seriously what is so feminine about this?:

I mean is it anymore than this guy?

And I mean this bloke

looks proper macho to me. And now it appears Square has even latched on to Brian's idea. In the GBA version the White Wizard now looks pretty damn feminine

well on the world map at least, I can still see the battle sprite as a man.

Well I think Brian should be pretty proud of himself, he invented an idea that everyone has accepted and shared somehow, but I'll have no part in this assuming White Mage to be a woman, I think the idea of a male White Mage is cool, mine was called Nathan.

Yeah...

I'm pretty sure that in I, all the characters were male. There is a part in the game where a dancer comments, "you boys are so cute!" or something like that. I would only assume that she meant all the characters.

I like the idea of a male white mage though. Usually people associate white magic with female characters so it's nice to have a change.

Yeah I noticed originally that the White Mage was a Male. Infact I think all of the characters in I are literally the same person but with different cloths. Some sort of split personality that has developed physical bodies and yet the Red Mage showing signs of independence because he is more 'versile' so dyes his hair white in protest of the seemingly limited variation that 8-Bit'ness has brought upon the world....

Good point though and cheers for reminding me about 8-Bit Theater. I've only gotten through half way of reading it all. :wacky:

Yeah, 8-bit theatre is pretty awesome, and I guess from his perspective it was interesting and different to make one of the characters a woman if they were all male.

Who does brianUrinal think he is? Why would you want the white mage to be known as male? I think it’s much cooler to have it as women. You have the men (knight, ninja, monk etc) who do all the damage and then you've got the babe who heals your party. I mean id rather have a rather nice lady attending to my injuries opposed to a bloke. Why do you think females over populate males in hospitals? It’s a women thing; women have gentle, soft curing hands, whereas men have rough fighting hands. men where made to fight, school fights for example, when fights happen too occur all the boys will provoke one another to accelerate a fight whereas the girls will be saying "why do they fight, it doesn’t solve anything" and afterwards the guy who looses the fight gets pampered by the girls "are you ok? That bruise doesn’t look that splendid, here let me kiss is better" and use cure to heal their wounds. At the end of the day BrianUrinal is blatantly gay and that’s all have to say.

Lets not flame other members in future please, your post is completely uncalled for. Post anything like that again, and infractions will be given out. This is your first and only verbal warning for flaming.

... I've never even looked at 8-bit theatre other then the title, when browsing NewGrounds, and I've always seen the white mage as a girl..

You are all wrong, wrong, wrong.

Brian Urinal, you are wrong. Rydia, you are wrong. Moonchild, you are 50% wrong. White Mage is part bear, part lion. Combining the two give you the name, Ursuisia felinia. That's what she is. White Mage is without a doubt a Ursuisia felinia.
