WTF is up with that super robot summon. i dont remeber the name so post it if you know it and give me your ideas on how it maybe came to be and why you think it was not used in any game since. i belive that they wanted more cooler summons and to appeal to more gamers

A super-robot summon...? Perhaps you mean the eidolon, Alexander. Alexander dwelled in Alexandria and as we all know, tried to protect the castle from Bahamut. Kuja even tried to control him using the Invisible since he wanted a powerful eidolon, but eventually Alexander was destroyed by Garland and most of Alexandria.

Edit: Durr, I just remember there is an Alexander in FFVII and FFVIII xD.

There was an Alexander in FFVIII, actually. And HE was a robot.

I don't remember a robot summon in FFIX. Can you maybe describe him or something? Like where in the game he is? Unless Mitsuki is right...

If it was VIII, then he would be the metallic kind of robot that you're talking about, who I think you acquire by drawing from Edea inside...Trabia Garden? I don't remember exactly which one that was, but it was the one where you first meet Irvine and eventually you'd have to fight Edea in a classroom.

Actually you know what, here's the games where Alexander appears in: http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Alexander

I like him better in FFIX though since he had those awesome wings. Same design look and everything, but the FMV in FFIX where he tried to protect the castle was just amazing, and that's probably why he stood out more in that game. I don't even remember him in FFVII and FFVIII, although I'm positive I did get him as summons too. He just never actually stood out until FFIX.

Galbadia Garden, actually, in FFVIII. and you fight her in an auditorium :D

I googled-imaged FFIX's Alexander, and his concept art type thing looks rather robotish. But in game he looked like a giant fricking bird. To me, at least. He was destroyed, as Mitsuki said :(

Hum, he's talking about Ark the Airship Transformer.

It appeared as a boss earlier in the game, but other than that, it's not the first the time the ultimate summon of a game is completely new to the franchise:

FFVII had Knights of the Round, FFVIII had Eden, FFIX had Ark, FFX had the Magus Sisters, etc.

So it's not scandalous per se - the fact the animation takes around two minutes and still doesn't break damage limit is, though; and falling behind Dragon Crest and Shock which take around 3 seconds to perform... yup, it's a letdown.

Yeah I think he is talking about Ark, I was pretty annoyed at first because I was hoping for Alexander. D:
But I mainly use Eiko rather than Garnet now so it's all good. xD
It's a good summon and I like how they did it so you fight it in Oelivert earlier and get a pumice piece (part of what you need to get him) from there.
I'll be honest and say it took me FOREVER to get him, but I found an easier way than getting another pumice piece from Ozma xD
You can get a piece from the Chocobo side-quest. 8D

Anyway, I think that it's a good summon but I would have preferred Alexander.
But I liked the animation to be fair. :monster:

Yeah, it was ARK. it was cool in its attack animation and the fact that i loved super robots made me abuse that summon even though it wasnt necessary
