I would imagine it's an expansion of FFXI though I don't know I don't follow the game It may be a download as well, I honestly have no idea

That's almost worth rejoining FFXI. I can imagine only the elite player would ever get a chance to see it though.

Yeah I really don't follow it either. I hate online gaming. I just loved that trailer. XD

Oh that was nice xD but I thought there was only one Shantotto. Well maybe not. Anyway if this is about a new expansion for Final Fantasy XI I won't be getting it. It look ok though. So was Dissidia Shantotto a surprise?

I think there is only one Shantotto.

I think what we see in the trailer is Shantotto leading an army of Tarutaru black mages who call themselves Domina Shantotto. I think they are essentially her minions.


From FF Wikia:

The story centers upon the eccentric professor Shantotto, returning to Windurst after an unexplained absence. She then begins to shock her colleagues with outrageous behavior, nothing like her old self. Shantotto then goes as far as to declare herself the ruler of her own personal empire. Adventurers must go out into the world to discover the source behind the new Empress's change in character.

So she essentially come back, kicks ass, and rules the world.



And I think Shantotto in Dissidia was probably a buildup or foreshadowing of this. They probably knew they were going to make this and decide to make her a major character in FFXI, so that is why they chose her for Dissidia.
