Since SMG2 will soon be out (one month from today if I have my information straight), I thought it would be good to create a thread to discuss Super Mario's latest adventure on the Nintendo Wii on February 10th. Slash that, it is now May 23rd.

Seeing as the first Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii was such a success, I figure this is fairly highly anticipated, so a thread for it might actually get some healthy chat going, and perhaps hype. :awesome:

I have seen that Yoshi will be appearing in it this time around, what do you all think it will be like to play the game using that character in the Mario adventure that defies the laws of gravity? I think it will be...interesting. :wacky:

Discuss. :monster:

I gotta admit, that E3 trailer was pretty dang impressive. Thank goodness the Wii can be emulated, I am definitely going to give this a shot when it's released.

I'm expecting good things from this game. If Miyamoto is putting his efforts behind it, no doubt it will be the Wii's best outing so far into this new decade. My Wii has been left to rot for quite a while now, so this will be an excellent excuse to get my Wii working again.

I heard they're putting less emphasis on the story- which isn't really saying much because Mario games have never had much in the way of storyline. Yoshi is awesome, and I'd love to have him back. I can see Mario riding Yoshi as he sails across space. It's what Yoshi was created for. :awesome:

I avoid using emulators, my computer doesn't like 'em anyways. xD I like to have the convenience of just opening the game case, nabbing the disc and sliding it into the Wii to play anyways, and it makes Nintendo money. :ryan:

I am a Nintendo fanboy, so of course I will go about getting this whatever way reason that most benefits Nintendo. :monster:

Yeah, it's shaping up to be a superb new addition to the vast array of Super Mario adventures, can't hardly wait to get my hands on it, for it shall be a game of epic win. :awesome:

If it's anything like the first one then it'll be a success. The first was original, and used the Wii controls to their maximum potential, in my opinion.
Plus I do love a good Mario game, I've bought a fair few of them, but only since Mario 64 on the Nintendo 64, those were the days...

I'm really excited about this. I didn't know it was coming out so soon until I went to my local Gamestop the other day and the guy at the counter recommended reserving a copy. It kind of sneaked up on me.

I just hope it's not too similar to the first game. I love the first game, but part of the fun of new Mario games is finding out what new element they've added (like going from 64 to Sunshine to Galaxy, for example).

Yeah. From what I hear, Super Mario Galaxy 2 was made with the thought in mind of the player most likely having played the first Super Mario Galaxy game, so if you haven't yet, you might want to consider it; SMG2 sounds as though it is going to have some even tougher challenges in store for you!

I thought that Luigi's Purple Coins level was pretty ridiculously tough, I can't imagine what would be a lot tougher than that, but whatever it might be, I think it might drive me insane from frustration. :wacky:

I didn't replay it with Luigi. (I'm scared now, it sounds hard?!) Purple comets were fun until they started to get on my nerves. (The Deep Dark purple comet? URGH.)

geez bowser doesnt give up in trying to steal peach,he never dies lol

I wonder if there will be more rosalina storyline, and luigi appearing officially. The director said that he will put little storyline as possible, that doesnt sound cool at all.

Hey, they never really put much effort into storyline with these kind of games, it's always been the same old thing; Bowser kidnaps Peach, Mario collects Stars or Sprites until there is enough to reach Bowser, then he whoops him, like always, Bowser never wins. :wacky:

So yeah, I'm really just looking forward to a lot of fun and challenging gameplay from this, I have no doubt this will be a superb game, and even less focus on story means almost exclusively focusing on fun gameplay and cool gravity tricks. :P

to tell the truth,it wont be fun if bowser dies, hes the main antagonist of mario and most known mario villain, theres no one to replace him. I hope super mario galaxy 2 could be played with a classic controller,a wii remote gets you tired right away.

Bowser actually dies in Super Mario Galaxy 2!? I didn't know of this, or is it just a guess at how what little story it will have unfolds? >.>

lol i never said that, but if your talking to yourself or to someone else, please dont spoil it,and for sure he doesnt die.the mario series will be ruined like that.

I thought you were saying he did, I was just surprised by it because I honestly don't think it will ever happen, it's like Bowser is eternal, he'll always be around kidnapping the Princess of Mushroom Kingdom. xD

If you look at the zelda series, the main antagonist ganondorf supposedly dies in twilight princess. If you look at the dk series, king k rool never dies.if you look at kirby series, king dedede never dies. those are all nintendo characters by miyamoto.

you know would be awesome, wario to appear in this game!!

You know, I never even thought of that, but now that you mention it, that would be classic. :awesome: I'd like to see Wario appear in more Mario games, he mostly just has gis own video games, where Mario is no where to be seen.

It's like a different character, instead of staying as that rival of Mario's that he will do anything to try get in his way and interfere, he has just become some money hungry nose picker. xD

Wario gets with mario only in sports games now.b4 he use to steal the castle, rival with mario, and apparently trying to save peach with mario in super mario DS.wario is now known for his warioware series.theres new warioware games that are coming out,the latest non warioware game of only wario himself is wario land shake it,which came out like 2 years ago.

Yeah, I have that game actually, it's for the Wii of course (hence the "Shake it!". :P), and I have gotten through the end of it, it was actually pretty enjoyable, it's a break from the Warioware games. xP

Anyways, as far as I know, Wario doesn't appear in Super Mario Galaxy 2, sadly. :O

So when is Super Mario Galaxy II onna come out? Also is bowser gonna do something To Rosalina so Mario can lose his powers at one point or is he still after Peach xD. If bowser dies that would be bad because Mario doesnt have people dying xD. I want to see more of Rosalina xD

I just know I saw the release date listed as February 10th, but now it is listed as TBA 2010, they must have pushed it back a yet-to-be-determined date. >_<

I hate how almost all the games to look forward to the most, get their release delayed the most, it was just awful with Super Smash Bros. Brawl. :gonk:
