This guy is really getting on my nerves because he just won't die...

All my characters and Aeons are in overdrive before I start the battle and I still lose. I use all my aeons in order to get Seymour to about 17,000hp, but as soon as I'm about to finish him off, he uses "Total Annihilation" which kills all my characters instantly.

Anyone got any advice on how to win? I've been stuck on this for 2 days now (furiously trying to level up in order to stand a better chance).

:wacky:

I'll move this to the help booth, all help topics belong there :)

and, it sounds like you need to train more, remember if you train lots and use Bahamut he can take off more than 9999.

When fighting him spare only one aeon as when he readies the Total Anihilation (there should be a warning about it, I think). Then summon the aeon as a 'sacrifice', use Aeon's overdrive and then he will use banish on that aeon, that way he lost three turns. And then just use overdrives on him.

There IS a warning, though. He readies this pattern that you can easily recognise. If I remember right, this is the one at the top of Mount Gagazet, right?

Christ, X is so difficult to help people with, because there are so many different strategies you can use. I, personally, use every character in every battle and advance everyone forward on the Sphere Grid at an equal pace. You'll want to have some status resistances and, if you can, Summon an Aeon to act as a kind of barrier between you and the receiving end of his worst attacks.

I can't fucking believe how people don't look for similar threads.

Anyway, it would seem your team has the resilience of a steaming turd. Initiate the fight with Hastega... that's the only support magic you should bother using. His Dispel will get you eventually, so you'd have just wasted turns. If you've given Yuna some Black Magic, now's the time to use it. Ensure that you have Dispel, as he'll cast protective magic on himself after he endures a handsome amount of damage. Don't summon your Aeons immediately, as he will typically use Total Annihilation later on in the fight - he'll just use Lance of Anthropy to begin with (and Full-Life, should the opportunity to combo be there). After setting him back by about 7-10k HP, then go all-out and summon them all.

Just keep your HP high, and the battle should be a breeze.

Use shell to reduce the damage done by half. And yes, he becomes harder as his hp dwindles, so use your stronger attacks towards the end of the fight.

He still has 17,000 HP after taking all the Aeon overdrives?
How is that possilbe? When I did it he had less that 2000..
then it just took a few slaps from Tidus to end it..

BTW thanks for that advice Saix.
