Heya, guys. Despite being in the RPG Inferno for a while now, there're some things i don't quite know about the stats.
Whats DEX for? And is ADR adrenaline or something?
DEX stands for dexterity. If your DEX is higher than opponent's EVA, your physical hits will miss less. EVA stands for evasion. I will do a list for you.
HP
hit points, your life and health. If this goes to 0 you are dead
MP
Magic Points, your available pocket for casting spells. If this gets low, lower than the cost of any of your spells. You can no longer cast any spells.
STR
strength, how much damage you can cause with physical attacks.
DEF
Defence, this number can counteract STR. If higher than STR of opponent, will prevent any physical damage. Warning, strong attack types can compensate for lower STRs. So some damage can be done in PvP fights. Monsters do not have attack types. But you cannot scan their weapons. So they could have powerfull weapons to compensate.
MAG
Magic, how much damage to opponent or addition to your stats, you can do with arcane.
MAG DEF
Magic Defence, this is the magic version of DEF. If higher than MAG, will prevent any damage from opponent's spells. Warning, if spells themselves set damage is higher than your MAG DEF, even a higher MAG DEF than opponent will not help much.
SPD
Speed, the higher your speed, the better chance of getting more attacks. An easy one to understand.
DEX
Dexterity, your chance of completing a physical attack without a possible miss.
EVA
Evasion, the abbility to evade a physical attack. Needs to be higher than opponent's DEX.
I hope this explanation helps.
Yes, ADR stand for adrenaline. Successful attacks can raise adrenaline. But some attack types use them up. So they have an ADR requirement. Usually these are attack types that give you an extreme advantage.
God of War does not have one because we want to balance Single Weld against Dual. Since Dual adds two ADRs per attack. God of War is only for larger weapons. While Attack of the Warrior is for Shortswords.
Yes, something like that. Scan monsters. But remember scanning does not show everybody. But it helps verses going blind. Which is what happens when you try to first enter an area.
And, while I'm at it..
Are there skill requirements to equip Medium and Large armours?
I do know there's welding skill requirements for crafting armours and such though..
Your STR just needs to be able to handle the weight. In other words you need to be strong enough to carry the stuff. For example if you have 100 STR, you can handle the combined weight of 1000 of Helm, Armour, weapons and boots. You will the see your MAX at the bottem of the equip screen. The left number is the amount you are carrying and the right number your MAX.
A word of warning, if your weight is close to max, your chance of missing in a physical attack is higher. So make sure you have DEX that is better than opponent's EVA when you carry a lot of weight. It is good to have it a bit lower.
