Those hoping for something more in the PlayStation 3 version of Star Ocean: The Last Hope International may have just had their wishes granted. A newsletter sent out by Square Enix reveals that along with an international dialogue, the game will indeed feature new characters added to the cast.

“As well as an improved battle system, overhauled menus and additional characters, players now have the option to hear the game’s voices in English or the original Japanese.”

That certainly is going to give your purchase more of a bang for your buck, now isn’t it?

This is probably a stupid question, but by "new characters" do you mean playable characters that weren't playable in the 360 version but were present in it, say, Welch, for example, or do you mean entirely new characters that weren't in the 360 version at all, like Patty in the PS3 version of Vesperia?

I have been watching the official site like a hawk since it was set up, and I am DYING for this game. Star Ocean 4 is definetely my game of the year for this year, and it could very well take that spot again next year as well with all this stuff they're adding to it. This just makes me even more excited. Roll on February!
 
I don't really know, a while back it was said that there would be new additional characters but this one just says additional characters so I can where you're coming from. I suppose we'll have to wait and see what SE, they may just presume people think additional characters mean brand new ones =S
 
Haha. WOOT! Now I'm glad that I have held back on getting it for the 360! XD To me Star Ocean just belongs on the Play Station. Why they jumped to XBox I will never understand. :wacky:
 
Yeah, we've known for quite a while it'd have additional characters, just not who they'd be. From what I've seen, a lot of people think they'll make Crowe, Welch or Eleyna playable...the official site has space for five more characters to be revealed, so it could theoretically be all three of them plus two others...or five completely unexpected characters. Or any number of characters between one and five. Like you said, we'll just have to wait and see...

I'm guessing "improved battle system" may go beyond just the addition of being able to switch targets in battle. Sounds intriguing...maybe they'll do something about blindsides...you could kill almost anything just by blindsiding it. Racking up combos was easy as well, perhaps they'll make it a bit more challenging this time around.
 
Really now? Ah gawsh don't tell me this now! Where are the new characters anyway? If that's supposed to be a video I can't click on it. I can still see an add on for TLH that includes the new characters on 360
 
Well, it's not like they're going to add any characters that have a story anyone will give half a crap about. But i mean really, you can only use 4 characters anyway and it's not like there's any parts in the game where the party splits in two, so... yeah :rolleyes:

I'll definitely try to pick this one up now, it really didn't get the sales or appreciation that it deserved when it first came out on the 360. So here is hoping it gets a second, and improved, chance :D
 
Damn, I really got start saving now. A lot of games I want won't be here for a while, but they all seem to be coming out with within weeks of each other - and I still gotta buy a PS3 D=
