Not sure if this really deserves to be in topic because it is kind of serious but meh... probably not serious enough.

Anyhow, let me start this by saying that I don't stalk people. I've never met anyone online that didn't ask to meet me. And I've never looked up anything that wasn't readily available in someone's profile or signature. With that being said, I've also never been stalked.

However, I do know people that have been stalked. I think in the past "stalking" used to be a pretty reserved word for people who constantly obsess over another person and follow their every movement. And to find out information about a person would either require the majority of your time and effort (digging through trash cans, stake-outs, that kind of thing) or some serious connections (Private investigator, mob... etc). But now I'm not really sure that's the case. With tools like Googe Earth, MySpace, Friendster, Xanga page, yadda yadda... all you really need is a few pieces of information and you can track someone pretty successfully.

Phil, a common friend of Busta's and mine, is someone we tried to "stalk" once. lol We've been friends with him for a long long time but he lives in Detroit. We were going to go out and visit him once but he got engaged and it kind of ruined the whole deal. Anyhow, he never ended up giving us the address to where he lived... but he did tell us where he worked and we'd seen multiple pictures of him and his fiance. And although we just kind of played around and never really got anywhere, if we really tried, we probably could have. He has pictures of him on his porch that has his address number on it. He took a picture of his brother and it shows that he lives on the corner of a street. I know he can literally walk to his work at a grocery story that is less than a mile away from his home. There are only 5 of these stores in Detroit. I mean if I put my mind to it, I could easily go visit this person without them ever asking for me to come. Now I WON'T... because that's just super creepy... but I probably could if I wanted to.

So has anyone done any amatuer stalking? Been stalked? or is actually a super creepy stalker?

um...I have never done any stalking personally. But I'm pretty quiet and very observant so I'm pretty sure I would make a good spy.

I know a lot of people in my grade that don't know me. I can match names with faces and at least know some thing about most of my peers.

Erm, why would you wanna stalk this guy? o_O I know you said it's just for fun, but still...kinda weird.

Anyway, I've been stalked before, yes. By an old woman. We ended up filing for a restraining order because it was way too serious. Anyway, long story, don't wanna get into it. But yeah, it's extremely creepy, and I never wanna go through it again.

I'm definitely not a stalker. Lol, really, I have more better things to do. And if I don't, well...why would I stalk someone in the first place? It's just ridiculous, and I'd feel like I'm not giving anyone their privacy. Now that's just wrong. And like I stated before, way too creepy. I never want to be viewed as a "stalker." Just the name in itself is enough to give me goosebumps. =/

lol Like I said, we weren't going to do anything with it. It was just kind of for fun. You never know when you might when to pop in and suprise a friend. haha But yea, it was just more out of boredom than anything. Plus I really couldn't talk to him as much after he married, so it would've been fun to pop in on him at some point. But that would've been too much of an invasion of privacy.

I'm not a stalker, but this guy seems to be one. Oh wait, he denies it, so he mustn't be one.....

((the girl in the pics is one of the characters))

Sometimes funny men follow me and my sister when we would get off the bus but soon someone would tell the sheriff and they'd stop.

wow, this topic has kind of gotten a little more serious than I thought it would. But yea, with the way people are constantly leaving around pieces of info and the fact that almost everyone has a myspace, xanga, facebook, livejournal, etc....its really easy to get info. I mean seriously, if my friends want to know about this hot girl in class, all they have to do is find her on facebook. They now know where she lives, if she has a boyfriend, what kind of music she likes.... its insane how open we've gotten. People are always going against the government and schools saying that is an invasion of privacy and blah blah blah. Well, you were the one that left it all open to see fool.

And I feel sorry for anyone that's ever been stalked. That has to be seriously unnerving

to help people be less serious here, and to forget they've been chased by creepy old rapists, I posted the picture.

Fortunately i've never been stalked, and i could never be one either. I find the idea of it pretty terrifying. If somebody is so obsessed with someone that they follow them around and spy on them then they clearly need help.

I know my occupation says stalker in my profile, but i put it there as a joke and now i feel bad so i'm going to remove it.

I've been stalked twice. It wasn't a fun experience, since both times went pretty far. Lurking in the bushes far.

Here's a tip: Don't be a stalker. Biggest turn-off ever.

Yup, happened once to me when I was at an arcade. This creepy older guy who didn't seem to want to blink and looked real dirty started to watch me real closely, then started to move behind me. I eventually had to tell my family and we left in a hurry. No fun at all. Also happened again when me and my mother were walkin' alone through a city. A small group of guys started to trail behind, staring. I was so glad our car was nearby.

I've also been asked or been told personal stuff through messages and stuff like that on forums/IM before. Also not very comforting.
