White Mage
So what Sports anime/manga are you all fans of, if any? This could include anywhere from a basketball manga (IE Slam Dunk) to a Martial Arts manga (Tenjou Tenge) or Racing manga (Initial D). Whatever you consider a sport.
The Sports series I am/was a big fan of is "Prince of Tennis". It's about a Freshman (by Japanese standards), prodigious, tennis player that returned to Japan after dominating a few tournaments in the US. He winds up at Seigaku, the school that his dad (a former tennis pro) used to attend, where he attempts to become the first Freshman to compete on the team as a Starter/Varsity member. He comes to find that the competition is stacked across the schools while he and the rest of Seigaku attempt to prove their worth in the field and make it to the Nationals.
The series spands across a series of Divisional Tournaments, introducing a wide variety of schools, characters, styles and specialties (within tennis) in the process. In a way, it's a lot more than just a sports manga, which is part of why I like(d) it so. The characters are more than just players, as most of them have very unique and entertaining qualities and personalities that are not forgotten about by the author. I think you can get into it without being a fan of tennis, as the story dramatizes the game and makes it very action-packed and thrilling.
If one is to get into it, I'd recommend the manga because the anime can make things seem a bit slow or tedious.

Anyway, what sports series do you all like? I read a few chapters of Slam Dunk a long time ago, and it seemed good.
