[Spoiler] MAJOR Inconsistency

Ok, correct me if I'm wrong but I've had a look round and checked with a few people, and here goes.

In the opening video Lightning waits for the cuffs to break before standing up, drawing her sword and DESTROYING every Psi-com soldier on the train.

HOWEVER we later on learn that to save Serah she must get herself purged. In order to do this, she quits the military and HANDS HER SWORD OVER TO THE SOLDIERS!

So, I put this question to you, where does her sword come from?

I did wonder about this too after I saw the flashback, I can only think that she somehow 'aquired' it back

Unless she simply got a replacement sword somehow, though that's a bit too convenient imo

The same could be said for Sazh's guns though, since I doubt they'd let him board the train armed.

This would obviously be the only thing that makes sense.

Although, it's neither shown or obvious that she does re-acquire it, which is why my mind sort of went... HOLD ON.

And yeah I forgot about Sazh, that didn't really occur to me because only Lightning makes it blatently obvious as she resigns/ actually gives her sword over, so I didn't think about him D:

Ya, it is odd, especially since, unlike pilot guns (Sazh's standard weapon) a gunblade isn't easy to come by without being in the military forces and even among the PSICOM troops, correct me if i'm wrong but none of the PSICOM forces you fight EVER wield a gunblade.

So the only way she could get it back is it this same guard boarded the train and she swiped it back. Unless we assume she had a standard battle rifle until the guards were killed and stole back her gunblade afterwards? Not that it was shown

I've watched the video and I don't think she draws her sword when she attacks the patrolling guard in the beginning. You could probably see that she just takes everyone out with melee, takes one of their guns somehow and just opens fire 'til the end where the train crashes.

Only then does the gunblade appear for certain.

Maybe the guard had them in the...armory or something for safekeeping and in an unseen scene Lightning breaks in there and retrieves it.

Yep thats it Jay! I watched the video too. The thirteen days before Final Fantasy XIII Explain what happens before the story and the guard did take the blade. But yes she takes everyone out with mElee and then grabs the gun. Then she gets her gunblade back from the guard because she kicks his ass. If you notice that part takes place right after the guard takes the blade.
