I think it depends on what you like most.

If you want a peaceful town or something serene then you'd want Spira. It's calm and lovely and beautiful.

If you like busy streets and people yelling and stuff. Huge places and things, then you'd go for Ivalice.

I'm not sure. I'd actually have to go with Ivalice. Spira was a great world and even though it was explored too linearly, it was still a very interesting world. Ivalice was huge. There were snow areas, there where deserts that turned into swamplands... it was much more complex. I would definitely have to go with Ivalice.

It seems like I'd get lost in Ivalice and that Spira was like Home and you knew exactly where everything and everyone was.

Really? Ivalice felt that way after a time. That goes for both Tactics and FFXII. I haven't played the Tactic Advanced games but I assume they all take place in Ivalice.

Ivalice because of the size factor. Spira was great and all but XII's system allowed you to explore much more of Ivalice than you ever could in any FF game ever created. Honestly.
That's pretty much all that needs to be said.

I don't know about Archades to be honest - I'll have to think about that.

..Maybe you can explain to me why Bevelle was not given more coverage? :P

I think the reason so much of Archades was closed off is because of the Chop system, like certain parts of the city would be closed to you and wouldn't be offered in the cab if you had insufficient chops.

As for Bevelle, i believe the only reason i can think of is because it was closed off after Mikas "death" and the fact that Yuna and Co would not be welcome their as they were heretics and walking into Bevelle would be suicidal.

I liked spira because of its scenery and the mystical-ness of it. It was. I'm not sure if it's bigger than Ivalice but it certainly felt like it was bigger

I could explore a LOT more in Ivalice than I could in Spira. So for that reason alone I could vote for the former... but Ivalice just feels better. Can't really put words to it, other than it's more potentially realistic.

Yes, Ivalice is defantly more realistic. It has big cities and everything.

As for Spira is more fantasy and more for the people who like those type of things.

This is a tough one for me.

Ivalice, I like the cities like Rabanastre (though I HATE Lowtown, I can navigate every area really well but I always get lost in Lowtown for some reason, it's tiny for God's sake lol) Archades in the cutscenes was beautiful. Nabrues Deadlands I loved, the effect and feel of the area was just great. The Estersand was pretty nice aswell.

One thing (well two) I dislike about Ivalice is the jungles. Golmore and the Silikawood weren't really that nice. I hate the way they are decked out aswell, floors all covered in wood, to me, that aint a jungle.

Spira, I loved the pyrefly effect in Zanarkand. Besaid was a nice place, little village surrounded by nice scenery. Macalania forest was pretty nice aswell.

Guadosalam, I thought that place was ugly as fuck, it looks weird.

Hmmm, I can't vote, I like them both alot.

I choose Spira mainly because the world wasn't ruled in kingdoms so there is less war and stuff, Ivalice is bigger and more fun too explore but Spira was more magical more surreal and therefore I would like to live in Spira.

Hmm, this is a difficult question. I feel very attached to Spira since FFX was my first FF game. Macalania forest is one of my favorite locations, but then areas like The Calm Lands were bland (even if they had interesting stuff to do such as the monster arena and chocobos), but from an aesthetics point of view Ivalice is just grand. The Cerobbi Steppe, the Nabreus Deadlands the Salikawood, etc. not to mention cities like Rabanastre and Archades are just imposing sights to behold. So, Ivalice wins this one.

Ivalice wins. It has lizard guys and other cool stuff.

What Spira has? Some hippie religious guys and big whale destroying your house every other week.

I feel as though Ivalice had a more cohesive design. Like all the races, costumes, buildings, and environments seemed to come from the same fantasy world.

Spira seemed a bit more random. I think there were some absolutely gorgeous things in Spira, but artisically it just seemed to be all over the place and not know how it wanted to be. It also wasn't as realistic. Part of the reason why Ivalice was more cohesive is probably because it is the story of specific kingdoms, while Spira is the whole world, and yet, you see very little of this whole world. Spira is very depopulated I guess because of all those years of sin, but I would have appreciated be able to visit more random cities and towns.

Spira is very pretty but I feel as though you only touch on Spira rather than are able to imbed yourself in the culture and nature of Spira. Like the story, Spira is a bit all over the place and has hard time finding a center to its design. Also like the story, it is so abstract that it is not fully realized or effective, if also wondrous and fascinating.

I'm saying Ivalice, on the whole it's a lot bigger which is a massive plus even if the areas are brilliant, I also liked the look of the bigger cities in Ivalice more than the areas in Spira...also, a good kingdom war with judges always makes a world better. :monster:

I think with Ivalice having bigger towns/cities to explore it's just inevitable(sp?) because Spira can't really have them (Bevelle being the exception) due to Sin tending to attack where the most people are gathered, which is why the people of Spira rarely gather in numbers except for Blitzball games, so the size of the towns shouldn't really be considered imo.
