Help Sphere Grids SUCK.

I think I'm about to attempt this game for the THIRD time, and I hope it will be the final time. I must start from the beginning. The other two times, I messed up a few people's sphere grids. I made Tidus go Wakka's way and etc. Can someone tell me or give me some tip on keeping the sphere grids on the right track?
 
Well, I sent Tidus in Wakka's direction somehow, and he never learned Hastega, Slow or Slowga, which I remember was very crippling later on in the game.
 
Doesn't it let you look ahead to see what all the different spheres are? Just plan ahead, and you should be fine, right? I've never really had this problem before. :hmmm:
 
I take it you're using the Expert Grid? It's easy to go off-track with that one, so planning ahead and being patient pays off. Both characters develop very unique stat builds, so you can easily differentiate between the two paths when making your decision to activate a particular node, going in a particular direction.

Just try and be a little more observant.
 
I never really planned it out either... sphere grids are kind of hard to work with, but with practice it gets better. Kind of.
 
It depends on which version of X you are playing...

If it's the NA version, there are lock spheres between the different character's paths. So, chances are, if you unlock something, you are going into a different character's path (not always though). Your best bet would be to go as far as you can in a characters path until you can't go any further without unlocking any of the lock spheres.

If it's International, then I can't help you.
