No, I am not talking about just Ashura, Leviathan and Bahamut. I am talking about Goblin, Mindflay, Cocktrice and Bomb. You can only get them from a 1/255 drop from certain monsters. It took me something like 4 hours just to get Goblin and I gave up on the rest. Has anyone here gotten some or all of them?

Yeah I remember them (FFIV both PSX and GBA), I only have gotten Bomb and I was like "WTF!?" I then checked the Bestiary and found out that summons were actually drops from certain monsters.

Tbh they aren't worth the time and effort, I tried to get the others but without sucess, chances are way too low.
 
I got Goblin before I even went into the Mist Cavern in my first playthrough and just thought it was a natural occurrence.
In Future playthroughs I never got it and read online they are rare drops. The summons pretty much suck though, so I don't see any reason to have them unless you need to have everything in the game.
 
I know I've gotten some of them before,but I can't remember if I've gotten them all. I would guess that I did since I enjoy getting everything on games. But anyway,I remember it took me awhile to get them.
 
I've gotten Goblin (happened to go outside the castle when you return to have Cid's guys mod the airship) as well as Bomb (2nd trip into Babil - as soon as Edge went through/over the wall I was attacked by Grenades and they dropped it).

Haven't gotten the others.

Neat but only worth it if you're going after a perfect game. Not usefull at all.
 
Think have only gotten Bomb. [ can vaguely remember..]

And didn't know that it was a rare special summon, until well- now..

EDIT- Maybe is getting it confused with Final Fantasy V ? If it's the same as V then it's not worth getting them at all .. xD

 
I haven't made an effort to get them, since I'm not looking to get all things, but I might in a near future... (Playing it on an emulator, although I do have a SNES). In any case, they don't seem to be of much use (except for the beginning that is) so I won't be giving them too much importance for now.
