First, don't use texts all the time, it's not good to have it in there sometimes.
Second, Your latest sig effect is good. However, don't you think the render is kinda not clear to see, or rather over sharpened?
Tifa sig look quite messy tbh and the point of merge between the two images needs a little bit more work.

Last sig don't you think you used the twirl (whatever it's name in GIMP) effect a bit too much? <_<

That's all I have to say, try doing more sigs with one render and make it simple as long as you're using GIMP.

Yeah the last two were my very last sigs from Photoshop CS2 before my HD got wiped. Those were made like 2 years ago. The render on the newest one is... I'm not sure. The render itself was bad around the edges so I had to compensate with a lot of blending and such. The left side of his face (rather his right) is too dark and with GIMP I had no way to lighten it up. His sword is messy as well as his right arm. I do like the Chest though as well as the shimmering around him. I also like what I was able to do with the dodges and burns on the 'Sentinel' text.

and btw... yes I do realize I just majorly critisized my own work

all in all I dont think this new one is too bad as its the first one I've done in about 3-4 months.

What kei said is pretty spot on the mark. Try and use colours that compliment eachother *points at 3rd sig* yellow brown and light blue it doesnt really go well. The best advise i could give would be to tell you to go out and do some tutorials, that will help you learn techniques for GFX developing. Keep practising and posting ur works up so we can see how you improve.
