So how do they get to the Farplane now?

In X it was a pivotal plot thing that when people die a summoner performs the sending to send the souls of the departed to the farplane otherwise they'd turn into Fiends - so what happens in X2? would there still be people to perform the sending? or would everyone either turn into fiends or - as stated in X as the only way to go to the farplane without being sent - accept death while there still alive.

Or is it a gaping plot hole?
 
thanks ^_^ after all it really is a huge unanswered question - because the farplane still exists and whatnot because you see Lord Jyscal talkking to trommell i belive?

Bah! i havnt played on this game for a long time so ill either have to replay it or unlock the box of scary memories in my head where X-2 is stored XD
 
Ummmm.... crap.... that is a good question, i actually never thought about it till now, i don't think they every got to the farplane in X-2 remember the Farplane was closed because the spirits were all lively and out of countrol because the summoners weren't there anymore, that could be the answer, but i think they might have just accepted death, because sin wasn't there anymore, so they had nothing to forget... no that can't be it either, i'll have to think about that, but that is a good question...
 
I dunno...hmmm, i really loved final fantasy X, but although X-2 was good,,,it could never outdo final fantasy X. So i guess it is a gaping hole in the plot....i have my theory of course...

1.Do to souls turning into fiends if they arent SENT or dont accept
death, then apparently a summoner is needed.
2.Who says only summoners can perform such a thing like a "dance of the sending"
3.Yuna (in the previous game) broke all bounds when she denied yunalesca and changed the fate of all summoners to come. Maybe since yunalesca created the laws that summoners must die for sin, she also created the law that summoners are the only ones who can SEND people...
4.5.and 6.OK, i come to my conclusion that since yuna broke the walls that yunalesca made for the spira and its summoners. Then she broke all the laws and rewrote who could do what, making it so that the world would now be equal without SIN and SUMMONERS. Now people can do rituals like "funerals" and such to SEND the dead into the farplane.......i hope im close.
 
No that wouldn't work then, then that would mean that there wouldn't be any fiends in FFX-2 if that were the case, and summoners were the only ones that could do the dance of the sending, because in kilika, yuna arrived and people said that there weren't any summoners there, and they were afraid that their loved ones wouldn't be sent and would all turn into fiends and attack Kilika and others
 
maybe the only reason people did not accept death was because they were worried about their families, with Sin gone there was less to worry about
 
most people would and could not accept death while they are still alive. the only reason tidus' mum does is because without jecht she has nothing to live for. but anyway they dont accept death when they are alive.
 
well there aren't as many people dieing in X-2 (no sin) so maybe most the people accept death because they're dieing of old age...nah thats stupid
 
Erm OK I have no idea about the farplane and stuff since I never played FFX, but from looking at FFX-2 don't they just walk there?

Isn't it just that glowy area in Guadosalam?

Something tells me I'm very wrong...
 
From what I remember is that there are many times in the game when characters such as Nooj, Yuna, etc all fall through some sort of hole and find themselves in the Farplane. It's where Vegangun was supposed at but then it disappeared...

Weird indeed.
 
Hrm. Interesting thought. A mere oversight, perhaps?

Realistically, I don't think they'd throw away the custom, especially seeing as the pyreflies morph animals into fiends. I do believe that the Priests were always capable, but due to customary tradition, the Summoners were the ones to do the 'official' sendings. That said, I doubt they would stand idly by and watch the pyreflies float away without a sending, should a Summoner not be there to send it.

Another thought, what if only the beings which were killed through spite and anger eventually became fiends? Granted, there would still be killings regardless of Sin's presence, but said acts of violence could 'anger' the pyreflies? Likewise, those who died of natural causes would simply travel to the Farplane with or without a sending.

A possibility, but not a very well-thought-out one on my behalf. >.>
 
no, because only a summoner can perform the sending, the priests can't, also, when a person dies with regret, or even naturally and had a dark heart, they would become a fiend, so that wouldn't be the case either, tidus's mom accepted death, so she went to the farplane, without a sending, thats how she got there
 
a lot of priests had the ability of the sammoner
thy just gave it up to be a priast of yeven so i suppose
they could preform the sending
oh and the souls getting crazy in the farplane
if you do the side quest for the guedo they return
to guedosulom so i suppose they put the farplane back in order
 
Im starting to think that this is just one Gaping plot hole :dry:

Yet even more reason to hate X-2

No, no, no, no for the last time, a preist cannot perform the sending, remember Kilika, sin attacked kilika, there were priest there, but when yuna got there and offered to perform the sending, the villegers said that they were afraid that their families would become fiends because there was no summoner in Kilika at that point of time, there in order to perform the sending

Not all Priests of Yevon are just Priests. As we all know, these mere Priests summoned the Dark Aeons. Father Zuke was a summoner, yet became a Priest. Does that mean he lost the ability to perform the sending? No, didn't think so.

As for the scenario in Kilika, it's entirely possible that no Priests of such power were present at the time, or were actually killed during the chaos that Sin wrought there.
Try not to be so ignorant next time you throw away our thoughts.
 
They have to walk there now. It has made some of the spirits very unhappy.

Although, they are now in the process of building a ghost train for all the lazy spirits.
 
i didn't say all the priests were summoners
like saix said mabe no priests in kilika had the ablitiy of the summoner
or the priests with the ability got killed
you get the ability of the summoner when your born i don't see how you could loose it some time in your life
but i do have to say yuna and the other summoner pracist and learnt
how to do the sending and the priests didn't but x-2 happens two years after so i suppose the priests could have learnt it in two years

"there are many things i do not know about this world the fareplan is one of them"

oh and dark fantasy x don't get so worked up next time
