Silent Hill: Book of Memories To Feature Co-op Multiplayer

Konami had a bit of a Silent Hill celebration at E3 this year. They announced the Silent Hill HD Collection, showed off Silent Hill: Downpour, and also announced a new game — Silent Hill: Book of Memories for the PlayStation Vita.

Virtually nothing about Book of Memories is known at the moment, other than that it will feature the very first multiplayer experience for the series, and will include a lot of the classic creatures the series has seen so far.

Konami say that Book of Memoriesis being scored by Daniel Licht, who’s also working on Downpour. Licht is best known for his work on the Dexter TV series.

Silent Hill: Book of Memories screens are suitably horrifying

IGN has posted a new batch of screenshots for Silent Hill: Book of Memories. The Vita exclusive is played from an almost isometric, quasi top down perspective, and is the first in the series to include multiplayer. This is the first we’ve seen of it outside of Konami’s E3 events and gamescom. Book of Memories is expected in early 2012.

Silent Hill: Book of Memories to miss March 27 release

Konami has confirmed to RipTen that Silent Hill: Book of Memories has been delayed, and will no longer release on March 27. Various retailers have a placeholder set for May 31, which oddly enough is a Thursday. Konami hasn’t provided a new release date, and has said to “stay tuned for a more formal announcement.” This this the second delay for the game, which was originally scheduled for release alongside Vita’s launch in February.
