This shouldn't come as a big shock since this game is the latest in the series, but who else thought that the graphics and sheer architecture of the whole game was just flawless. I'm not talking personality, I'm not talking plot, just the graphics here.

How would you rate it, compared to other games it's caliber?

Overall, 9/10. There were some elements that were seemingly recycled from FFX, what with the architecture of places like Bhujerba and such. But overall, this game is eye candy to the max.

I quite liked the architectural design of Raithwall's tomb, as well as some of the other very nicely designed structures. The game had quite a few focal points in which I just recircled the area over and over again just to get a glimpse. ^.^
I particularly liked the places where you could stand at the edge of a cliff and get a good overview of the area. ^.^

Yeah! That's one thing I noticed about this game too. You can actually see a lot of people walking in places that you can't access yourself, which I thought was pretty awesome considering the previous games were limited.

And Raithwall's tomb was awesome, IMO. Not Demon Wall, but the rest of the architecture was great, IMO. xDDD

 Well, the demon walls were pretty cool-looking at least. That first one was a bastard though.

I did love the graphics and architectural design though. I've said before how much I liked the design of the feywood and nabreus deadlands. The Necrohol of Nabudis was awesome as well. It had that creepy horror feeling to it. Also, I just liked the overall feel of Bhujerba.

I really liked how the weather changed in the game as well. I liked Giza Plains better during the rains.

I remember (sorry dont know where) having a random battle and then spun the cam, and the view was incredible, A lake and an island, I was blown away as chances are you wouldn't see the view unless by accident. Kudos to the graphics, they were amazing.

As far as graphics and locations go, this game gets a 9/10, it's just so drop-dead gorgeous. I've only made it to the Sochen Cave Palace, but there are a few locals i've seen that (in my opinion) prevent this game from reaching a 10:

The Tomb of Raithwall: very lackluster, too much dull grays and browns used in every room.

Paramina Rift
: reminds me too much of Mt. Gagazet.

The Stillshrine of Miriam: again with the grays and browns.

Other locals just make me want to stand there and swivel the camera around for ten minutes taking it all in. I also particularly like that zone feature where you can see whats in the next area. Some of favorite locals:

Bhujerba: it's like what the Floating Island (from Sonic the Hedgehog) should have been, it's just stunning to look over the edge and see clouds and airships flying below you.

Golmore Jungle: wow, just wow...never have i seen a forest that looked so beautiful and felt so eerie.

Mt. Bur-Omisace: more clouds surrounding you, only you can see the land sprawling out in front of you too, and the temple itself is beautiful.

The game is eye candy, it looks great and this always helps when your playing games.

I just liked walking into unknown spooky areas, and witnessing graphical awesomeness of the weather conditions. Totally 10/10 for this, they put a lot of effort into making this seem better then previous PS2 titles.

Yeah, those weather changes was a pleasant surprise. Not often you see a game that changes terrain and weather conditions during playthrough. xD
And then change in the fiends that pop up too are pretty realistic. With the exception of some. :P

I just got through Mt. Bur-Omisace and it's intriguing how the designers managed to keep a lot of detail into the game. Like the floating islands in the sky, those were pretty cool to look at as well.

The weather changes were a lovely touch, especially when it came to hunts, like the Giza Plains have alot of hunts affected by the weather changes.

Also, one weather change i've found particularly impressive was the Ring Wyrm (hilarious name). I knew it showed up in a sandstorm, but man, the actual storm was nearly blinding, it made rocks and plants look like slavens and copies of the Wyrm.

Me, 9.9/10… Some areas may have seemed recycled, but to be honest, I really didn’t notice. Either way, FFXII truly pushed the envelope of the PS2’s graphic engine. Absolutely amazing!
