September 9: A Day Without Cats

You know, AOL should've died about 10 years ago.

Their latest stunt is to declare 9/9/09 "A Day Without Cats."

About 40 websites and blogs have signed up. Their goal: to ban ALL cat photos, videos, and humor from being shared, uploaded and discussed on the web today.

Normally, I would not be uploading cat stuff today. However, I can't resist being contrary. So:

I just realized that urlesque, the website sponsoring "A Day Without Cats," is part of AOL.

Do you know how many HUNDREDS of AOL "Free Trial CDs" I personally had to recycle as coasters or throw away?

How many BILLIONS of those "free trial" CDs were mailed around the globe in the 90s? I wonder how many city blocks worth of landfill they're taking up now.
