Sabins Blitz commands

Like others, I never seemed to have trouble here. Games like Street Fighter II came naturally to me.
 
I found it impossible with the Analog sticks but with the D-Pad it's not bad at all. Plus, if it points to the lower left diagonal, all you have to do is hit either down OR left; not diagonal.

I played the PSX version in Anthology so that's how it was for me. I always nailed Sabin's blitzs.
