back when i was elementary school one of my friends told me that every time you fought seifer his coat got a little more torn. i was wondering if this was true.

Yeah, I've seen it... The only way to prove it to you is if you play it and look for it (or look on teh intarnet for screen shots, but I'm too lazy )...

Yes, during the last fight agaist Seifer, His coat gets really badly torn up as the battle goes along

Yep, this true. It's been a while since I've played, but I do remember each boss fight that you get into with him, you'll see his coat getting more dirty and torn up at the bottom.
