As I've promised to keep you guys updated regarding the RPG Inferno, here's a little update on v3.0 Alpha 4 which will be released by the end of this week.

Just to keep you guys updated, here's what has been done or is still pending to be done for Alpha 4, the list may change during the course of development.

Completed
Theme Import/Export
--------------------------------------------
The ability to export an entire game, including files is available, aswell as import entire games (either ontop of existing data, or from a fresh install). With this a basic setup will be able to be provided for those that wish to use it.

Advanced Party System
--------------------------------------------
Partys can be formed within towns, and the party leader can opt to travel (not using the worldmap), taking the party with him/her, if battles are encountered, the party is all in the battle. But the EXP gained is divided by the number of users within the party to combat EXP 'farming'.

Each place can be given a minimum party size, so partys cannot grow beyond a certain size in certain locations, also meaning partys can be disabled within certain places. However, these rules are exempt if the party was formed in a different location and traveled to a location with a smaller party limit or partys disabled.

Level range has also been implemented, so the leader can invite users who are x levels higher/lower than themself, to stop higher levels taking on new players and rushing them, this however can be disabled.

Multi Boss Encounters

Previous to alpha 4, the system was unable to successfully execute a multiple boss encounter, now if more than 1 boss should be encountered, they will be.

RPG Moderation
--------------------------------------------
The moderation rules, to view the RPG offline, and also use the '/prune' command within the shoutbox has been moved from forum staff to RPG staff defined within acpconfig.php.

Error On Worldmap
--------------------------------------------
Should there be no locations on the world map, an error will be returned to the viewer to tell them this, to clarify why the world map doesn't show when there are no locations/places.

PvP Triple Triad
--------------------------------------------
Using the existing 'Battle Requests' system, the ability to start PvP TT battles will be added, however unlike battles, it will be 1 Vs. 1.

Enhanced Battle AI
--------------------------------------------
At current, the battle AI remains static in it's judgement of attacking/casting a spell. The enhanced AI will now exploit several target areas of an opponent or party, such as the considered healer of the party, the weakest of the party, or the biggest threat of the party. With this new implementation the ability to exploit the static movements in generic monsters will be removed and players will be forced to think more dynamically.

Re-Order Item Types/Classes
--------------------------------------------
The ability to re-order the display of item types and classes, to handle the order displayed within a users inventory or when crafting an item.

Group Triggers
--------------------------------------------
Working in conjuction with grouping trigger conditions, a group trigger will be created to allow multiple triggers to be grouped into 1.

Restart Chat
--------------------------------------------
A simple link added to all NPCs to restart the chat from the top again.

Engine Integrity Upgrade
--------------------------------------------
The tool to check engine integrity will now also check the engine version is the correct version in compliance with the version installed. It some cases people forget to update inferno_engine.php and bugs can occur due to this.

Weight Requirement Check
--------------------------------------------
Check weight requirement when adjusting stats.

Language Rebuild
--------------------------------------------
A tool to rebuild the specified language based off the master language file.
If you're looking to know what was new in the previous version, then click here. The next release will be definitely Alpha 5 and this is going to be the very last 'Alpha' release of RPG Inferno. We will then move ahead to RC (skipping the Alpha series in which the Final version will be available even sooner).

I'll keep you all updated if there is anything new to know. :)
 
This is very cool, except I'm a little worried about the party part. Basically, if we were to use this, the bosses would have to be really tough because parties would crush the bots we have now. However, this would make it near impossible for lone warriors to win... the whole party system will probably only be allowed for certain bosses in certain areas when the final game comes out.
 
I have already talked to Darkblade and Adamant about how I feel about teaming. If it is going into the directon of Clans, I like it. But I agree with Adamant, it should not be used to beat bosses to gain access to places. In areas where there are large teams of regular monsters, yes. But I would be totally against the idea of teaming to gain access to places by beating bosses. In fact, I would suggest a feature to disable teaming in such areas.

BTW what version was the RPG inferno b4 in june?

What the hell is weapon forging? Never heard of such thing as this one. Haha. :D And the old version that we had was v2.4.
 
Weapons forging would be the ability to make your own weapons. In V3.0 it is called welding weapons.

I imagine that is what he is asking.

Alpha 5 & 6 will be next and I'm hoping they will be released in a couple of days more.

The new Inferno will blow us away so stay tuned guys! :)
 
Well, Adamant and I learned that a person who beat a boss should not team with a person who has not. Because the person who did not beat the boss will get stuck fighting the boss alone, why the former will just travel to destination.
