Reorganization of the RP section

Well myself and the other RP mods have been working on some new ideas for rearranging the RP section of the forums.
We've decided to divide it into three different subsections:
A Beginners RP subsection
An Advanced RP subsection
And a subsection for character profiles.

The RP section of the forums will be made more user friendly for all RPers; including beginners and advanced writers. Below is a rough draft of how we plan on reorganizing the RP section.

Roleplay Section division will include:
  • Guidelines sticky (including rules, regulations, and other information)
    This of course will be the first thing people see when they enter the RP section.
    (No need to search around for guidelines and instructions.)
  • Subsection: Character Profiles
    Includes Guidelines sticky (including character requirements, rules and restrictions, and placement and approval details.)
  • Subsection: Original Roleplays
    Includes Original Roleplays sticky (including brief explanation of original roleplays, and requirements.)

    - Beginners Original RPs Subsection: Signup/Discussion threads

First things first, we need help coming up with a few creative names for the following subsections:
Character profiles
Original Roleplays
and Unoriginal Roleplays.

We highly encourage all members to contribute any creative ideas in revamping this section of the forums. So step up, speak up, and give us your two cents.

hmmm an intermediate version?
that might be cool but wouldn't that be too many?
if you get alot of members joining then maybe you should start an intermediate one.
i wouldn't consider myself to be an advanced writer lol
 
I know, but in all fairness...I've seen some of the posts in the RP section as it is...some people are using as little as two or three sentences per post...

For other members, it may be hard to have patience with that kind of thing.
I think it might be a good idea to have
Beginners
Intermediate
and Advanced writing sections in the RP section.

I want it to be user friendly for EVERYONE.

begginer:1 sentence-1 paragraphs
intermediate:1-3 paragraphs
advanced:4+ paragaphs

if so ill be in intermediate cause i wont post that little

Hahaha. Well, I think it's better to divide it three ways...
Some people just RP for the fun of interacting...even if they only post one sentence at a time.

Others are interested in putting forth the effort, and like you said...even I may not decide to participate in advanced RPing...
I think it should just be available for those who have the time and want to dish out the effort.

im one of those people who want to try and put details rp posts
but at the same time i cant post alot


Oh and spell and weapon shops sound like a good idea

eg: ~supernova cannot kill this terrible monster guarding the gate but then he dishes out his coin pouch and pays the shopkeeper 300 coins for a flame spell to put an end to this monsters life
 
Haha I know I know, it would be really fun to incorperate shops and all that...but first things first I have to reorganize this stuff. Which may take a good while by itself. O_O

so once people decide what they are gonna be in and their character bios and the world map and the storyline and any extras are done we start?
lol sounds confusing ^_^
but at least everyones putting alot of effort into this ORPG ^_^
 
Well I have my own ORPG that I'm going to start, which is KOTR...I made a world map to go along with it.

I don't want my ORPG alone to dominate the RP section of the forums. lol. I'm glad that people want to join, but I want to encourage everyone to contribute their own ORPGs as well. ^_^
 
i won't be much good at making my own ORPG :(
i just prefer joining one so it doesn't get confusing
there are other ORPG on this forums which are very active as well ^_^

Keep in mind that this layout is meant to be user friendly. That isn't to say that we're totally seperating people because of their level. You are not obligated to stay in one level of roleplaying forever. There's always room for improvement as long as you keep your mind to it. If you think you're comfortable with being more detailed in your posts, committing more time to an RP as a group effort, then by all means, try out the higher leveled stuff. We would really like people to improve.

maybe after a while while i settle down in the rp i could get better and move on to advanced ^_^
 
Well we only have feedback from one member.
If nobody has any objections, we'll probably just go ahead and initiate the reorganization.
 
That sounds good. Am I right in thinking that the "Unoriginal RP" will include RPs based in a "Final Fantasy" world, or, for example, the world of "Dungeons & Dragons" etc?
 
Yes. Unoriginal RPs pertain to anything that isn't based on your own ideas.
Anything from Star wars to Sailor Moon, it doesn't matter. Anything unoriginal will be separated from original RPs. =]
 
hmmmm i would love a unoriginal character for a lord of the rings rp lol
it would kinda fit
 
May I add to this, Rhea?

I know it's so demanding of me, but I want people to make an effort. I suggest that we should have a thread that asks people to come up with a post to do with any sort of RPing. It could categorize those in beginner and advanced level.

I thought of this because many people I RP with don't make much of an effort for posting ...
 
What do you mean...a post regarding RPing?
You mean to show their skills?
 
Yes, a "Post an RP Post" thread. Perhaps it could be consider a practice first before any RPs are made and others could make suggestions as to whether they belong in beginner or advanced. It could work, but I'm not too sure about the reaction of the people towards this. What do you think?
