Name –

Huo Yuan Ren

Title/ Moniker

Scarlet Robe, derived mainly from his red and gold armour, his scarlet battle cloak, but also the red eye shadow applied to his top eye lid. He also shortens his name to just Ren. (Used by rpers)

Alignment

Chaotic Neutral

Race

Human

Gender Male

Age
25

Appearance
As a mighty general, Ren possesses a magnificent physique. He stands at a mighty 194 cm tall and weigh in at 85 kg of solid muscles. Along his body, these muscles are obvious, resembling Greek marble statues. They aren't bursting his shirt, but he is cut, and strong. He resembles more a really toned athlete rather than a massive body builder

Odd for his nationality, Ren is somewhat pale, in contrast to his fellow orients. In actual fact, his hair is white rather than dark brown or black and his eyes are a swirl of gold and red. This is attributed to his demon (youkai) heritage from his mothers side.

Ren's face shape is a slightly narrow inverted triangle. Although the lower half of his face is not that much narrower than his forehead, it slopes in gradually to his chin. His eyes are similar to that of an eagle, slanted and sharp along with his eyebrows that makes it seem like he has a perpetual case of distaste or dissatisfaction. The pupils are a swirl of red and gold, but it is prominently red and appears with frequent swirling streaks of gold. His nose is average, not too big nor small and his lips also naturally slips into a neutral appearance, which seemingly makes it seem like he is always unhappy/not smiling, which goes with his eyes. His hair has a messy look, where his fringe hangs at its will down the front, with the sides coming down his face to his jaw while the front grows down just past his eyes. Oddly, in the middle, his hair tends to gather a bit to form a small V, making it more loose to the side and more concentrated in the middle.
The top is naturally a bit spiky and as for the back, its left as it goes, straight down to just above his waist. Generally speaking, he fits into the handsome male bad boy type of guy, who is good looking but with a cold personality.

Attire/ Armour

Ren's attire is his armour. What is special is that he wears a ceremonial headdress rather than a combat helm, which sets him apart from the other generals. His clothing will be split into several paragraphs.
Headdress:(This will be really difficult to imagine for those that aren't familiar with chinese heritage, so bear with the bad quality images)
This headdress is a ceremonial top for military parades. However, Ren wears it always, on the field, off the field, even when going to ministerial meetings, where his helm would be more appropriate. It is split into four parts. The first is the small crown. It is an intricate gold alloy top which sits on the dome of his head. With gold wire decorations and intricate carved details along with pearls at the side, it is meant to resemble a dragon's head. At the top center is a red pompom. At the top is two long pheasant tail decorations. At the crown, on either side are a short column of tiger fur shaped in a cylindrical manner, and on top of these are three peacock feathers before the pheasant tail feathers are stuck on top. It reaches a total length of 110 cm, making his already impressive height even taller. The pheasant tails stand rather erect and only bends backwards slightly around 90cm up. They are highly flexible so they do not break easily and can bend easily.

Armour:
A special quality of his armour is its durability. It has the ability to withstand magic, especially fire as well as being strong enough to take a few direct strikes. (No more than 3-4)

His armour is a red battle dress underneath a gold Chinese scale plate armour. Unlike European plate armour, it is much lighter and made of many small pieces of plates, allowing the wearer much more room to move. The red battle dress is similar to the japanese training uniform of a hakama and a
robe top. However, it is slimmer and the robe's sleeves reach his wrist. At both wrist, the sleeves are held down with forearm and forehand armour. At its base is a leather wrap that wraps around the wrist and covered the forehand, held down with a loop ring that goes around his middle finger. Black leather laces criss cross the bottom where it holds the armour tight on his wrist. At the top are slated plate scale armour the colour of gold along his wrist and forehand.

His chest is covered with a heavy plate scale armour which covers his chest, back, and shoulders and legs, before hitting the waist where at the front, there is a large slit down the middle, running from the waist all the way to the bottom. At the back is something similar. These slits provide room for leg movement. To cover for these areas, he has a black plate scale skirt that has two pieces that specifically covers the slits, making his lower body covered without movement impediment. Worn before the black plate scale skirt is his haramaki, or belly protector. It serves as a belt for his armour holding it in place at the waist. It is an intricate piece of expensive clothing made from red cloth with detailed gold stitching of outline patterns. This cloth is wrapped around a metal ring with at his upper waist with a black thin waist cloth tied around his waist in the middle.

His shoulder is similarly covered with plate scale armour. Like a sailor style collar, it covers his shoulders, his biceps his collar and the upper back. It is kept on his shoulders by being tied at the front at his neck.

His legs are generally covered by the armour plate scale. However, he wears metal armour boots the colour of gold with red decorations. It reaches from his foot to the knee with a knee cap guard. To top off his armour, a red cloak is tied underneath the armour collar, reaching from his shoulders to his feet.

Personality
Ren is egotistic, charismatic and condescending. Although this type of personality tends to repel people, his undeniable skills, his eloquent tongue, his golden looks and his charisma earn grudging respect from his rivals, adoration from his men and fascination and obsession from the females. Although he has a rotten personality, he looks after those under him or are in his care. Those that are under him see through his negatives and concentrate on his positives as he is not a tyrant, but is rather fair and just.

He tends to jerk at people to get reactions, such as his rivals in court, and entice them to do things. While a general, he is quite capable of mind games and politics. Ren is a leader and with his charisma and sharp mind, people around him tend to follow and listen to him. Whether he is alone or with others, he doesn't change. A smart man, he knows his situation and would not act in a manner that would not yield profit. He is not so prideful that he would trade his life for his pride. Ren is hardly ever seen in extremely harsh moods such as blatant anger and losing his head in his emotions. A deep thinker, Ren may seem to be a cocky bugger and someone that only knows how to fight by many politicians and older magistrates, but is actually calculating and smart.

He is already a rather large man, so it is quite hard to find people that can intimidate him. However, should someone of larger size come, he can tell if they are a genuine threat or just big and would act in response. If they're weak, he'd have no tolerance and beat them up. If they're strong, he would not back down, nor start a fight. He would engage in a psychological battle of silence. Should an accident happen, he would show displeasure at the accident, but would not hit or abuse people. He is not a tyrant, but people would still be scared of repercussions, that more often than not, would not come.

As for killing, he has just a nasty personality. He is not a savage brute or barbarian and would not mindlessly massacre civilians. However, should these civilians impede on his goals or are a threat to him and his people, then they are enemies and would root out the evil. Enemies and villians are the same. They come within his eyes, they die. The same go for self defense. He believes that they resign their life if they attack him, though he may be in a more benevolent mood and may sometimes spare people.

First Impression

First impression would be "whoa...damn...." His height is nothing to sneeze at, made even more extreme by his pheasant headdress, making him a staggering three meters. Intimidation, fear, awe and admiration are the impressions he leaves on people at first sight. Next, they would probably notice his damning good looks and notice the confident and slightly cocky air he has around him before probably notice his gold and red armour and his fighting pole, signifying his profession as well as making him seem dangerous to tangle with.

Strength
His ridiculous power is his main strength. His pole is made of an extremely heavy metal. However, Ren's tremendous strength allows him to wield it as if a toothpick. His strikes are devastating. A single strike landing on anyone but a trained fighter of a relatively high standard would either be killed or OHK, depending on how much he puts into the hit. Destroying walls and obstacles are not much of a deal to him. This leads to him not having much of a disadvantage in smaller areas as he just crush anything that blocks his way. Given enough times, he could level a house with his pole. His strength is the same unarmed. His punches are more like a cannon. against anyone but trained high level fighters, one punch would down them. The amount of hist obviously builds up the stronger the opponent is, but against speedy characters, no more than four is needed. Strength orientated characters are a different story.

Vitality

His stature means he can take a lot of hits.Anything less than a direct hit to a vital spot could almost be shrugged off. Slashes that are not very deep wouldn't deter him much nor would blunt attack that isn't sufficiently powerful. Stabs are a different story. As this would bypass his muscles, it depends on his armour. However, as a general rule, anything that isnt serious to critical or in a vital spot could be taken.

Magic is similar. His armour houses special properties that fend off some magic. However, it is most effective with fire magic, holding up to heavy fire based magic damage. Anything over a low level spell would result to his own vitality. His will allow him to take a few magic strikes directly, but five medium spells or 2 heavy would wound him rather badly.

Speed

On the other side of the scale is speed. While his strength is superb, this is one area in which is can be worked on. In a fight, his strike above average in speed due to his strength which allows him to wield his pole as if its a light weapon. However, He is unable to launch a flurry of combo attacks as if a blur. Only when he uses centrifugal forces would he be able to do that. He depends on his strength and accuracy to deal damage, so the number of strikes he can launch in a barrage is limited. However the initial first strike can be very fast. So he depends on single, critical hits His ability to sidestep is not from his speed, but from battle experience, therefore would go to reflex.

As for running, he isnt too spectacular. His top speed is around 31 Kmph for about 5 minutes. Next level would be at 27 Kmph for about 10 minutes and finally, his jogging speed is at 21 Kmph .

Stamina
As a seasoned warrior and a professional soldier, his stamina matches up to his vitality. It is seemingly endless, able to fight on and on and on. After years being in the thick of battles, Ren could easily fight from 30 minutes in an intense one on one fight to well over days in big war battles.

His running stamina is a bit odd. Sprinting at 31 Kmph, he would probably last only 5 minutes. At 27 Kmph, this extends to about 10 minutes, but at his lowest jog of 21 Kmph, he can last for a few hours.

Reflexes
His natural reflexes are above average despite his speed, though they are nothing to be absolutely amazed by. He supplements this with large amount of battle experience so that he can react as quick and speedy as many naturally fast characters. He can dodge most strikes as well as block and can follow people even if they get outside of his range of view. Arrows and guns are reactionary to battle experience which he uses to tell when they would fire through telltale signs. Although not able to attack right after his opponent begins a strike, he definitely is able to parry and dodge rather easily.

Fighting Style
Ren is a pole fighter. Rather than deadly slicing attacks, he uses heavy crushing blows with blunt weapon as his main. Although he is not fast in a sense of being able to run around at great speed, his movements in fighting isnt slow. Lightning fast single strikes is his specialty. What he makes up for in lack of speed in launching a combo of strikes, he makes up for in strength, accuracy and speed for one single strike. Like most pole arm fighters, Ren uses the length of his weapon to his advantage, keeping himself from their striking range with swings and jabs. In order to cover for the weapon's weakness when up close, Ren uses his gauntlet fist as a weapon and attacks bare handed. Intimidation with his size and battle aura also is part of his fighting style. He is a Dou type of fighter who exudes battle aura as well as fight with instincts and experience. Not to say he doesnt think, but because of his large stock of experience, what he thinks is usually what his body reacts naturally.

Weapons
Ren has three basic weapon. His staff, his jian and three metal poles that can be combined into another staff. Both the spear and jian are named weapons. However, Ren does not call them by it, but merely "staff" and "sword"

Staff: In order to match his own height, Ren uses a 2.5 meter staff. It is mainly black in the middle, with an oriental sutra etched into the black metal. It is hard to see due to the metal itself being black, but in order to make it visible, the blacksmith painstakingly melted silver and used it as ink to write in the fine, small words. While staffs are meant to be able to be used either end, Ren's staff has two silver coloured caps on each end, with one being longer than the other. The end he uses the most as the attacking tip has a cap of 60 cm down the 2.5 meter pole while the other end has a cap of 40 cm. Although it is his main weapon, due to its huge size, it is the one she is unable to take everywhere. Hence at times, it is left behind at home rather then taken.

Jian: For much closer scale and to take everywhere, Ren has his Jian. His Jian is totally a meter in length with a hand and a half hilt. It is a highly polished silver with an etching near the hilt on both sides. It has an intricate gold hand guard with a white hilt with golden studs to keep the hilt together. Its sheath is white.with a golden sash. This is slipped into his waist belt on his right side. Due to its light weight at 1 kg and its keen blade, Ren can do some nifty, fast attacks since he pulls back on strength and focuses more on accuracy and speed. Although proficient in swordsmanship, Ren still prefers using staffs, hence the sectioned staff.

Sectioned Pole x 3: The sectioned staff is a total 1.8 meters in height, broken into three 60 cm sections. Each section can be snapped onto another in any order as all three are identical, being black with a flowing dragon pattern in silver that runs perpetually when all three are connected. His most personal weapon that is the least conspicuous. His staff could always be used as a cane with two of the sections while the third is hidden on his body underneath his right side of his armour skirt. When not in cane mode, the other two is hidden underneath the left side of his armour skirt.

Abilities

Most of Ren's skills are weapon skill attack with effects generated from inhuman force and strength.
Thrust Shot: A very simple maneuver where, with either his staff or the sectioned pole, Ren grips it by the tip in a reverse grip and launches a thrust whilst letting the pole loose. This allows it to shoot out like a projectile at extreme speed before Ren catches it at the other end in a normal grip. It is fast enough to create perfectly circular holes in walls. The range is dependent on the weapon.

Dragon Tail: Reflecting it's name, Dragon has Ren swinging the pole horizontally angled at the ground in a wide sweep.
Magic
None. Ren does not know any magic
