Also lately I cannot reply normally. I can only reply with Quick reply. Also I cannot view mine, and other member profile user notes and posts.

I get this error:

just got it for checking new posts i mean how can you not find any posts
 
I remember when this started to happen ages ago, Josh told me how to sort it, and that it was just a bug in the system. Knowing his path of lies, however, he was probably fucking with something himself. Regardless, the information still works;

- When that message comes up saying that the page cannot be found, glance at the URL you're in. It will usually resemble the following:
"http://www.finalfantasyforums.net/index.html"
You can either remove the "index.html" part, or you can delete "html" and type "php". Both options have an equal effect.

- When this "user has not registered" business occurs, again, glance at the URL. It seems to resemble "http://www.finalfantasyforums.net/memberslist.html" which is essentially looking for the member ".html". Again, change the URL accordingly.

The rest of the problems are unique, however.
 
I figured that last one myself. :monster:
Basically, once you've gone into someone's profile, you have to re-type the URL, otherwise every link you click returns the "not registered" message.

And if this has happened before, then it can be fixed easily right?

Please post specific URLs that are broken here, and also if you could describe the page where you accessed them from.

For instance the images for the buttons at the bottom of a post like Reply with Quote etc. aren't working for me. Also the link for Reply with Quote does not work, because for instance it is linking to:
http://www.finalfantasyforums.net/news-and-updates/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=...
when it should be linking to:
http://www.finalfantasyforums.net/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=...
The forum name is being added to the link, breaking it.

This is most likely due to vbSEO. Post all errors you find today, and tomorrow I will disable vbSEO. Then we can see the differences.

All usernote links on peoples profiles. "Find threads by user" "Find posts by user" All these links lead to a vbulletin message saying "User is not registered and therefore has no profile to view"
 
Username Change Function?

I know this was removed some time ago, because DB said it was malfunctioning or fucking up or something...but would it be possible to put it back in the forums? That nifty little feature is something that would be invaluable to us members, and save the admins a lot of time. And it would avoid people having to wait for ages to get a username change...
 
Sorry AG. I really do not like encouraging people to change names. It does get very confusing. But since people continue to want their names changed, it would be nice to have them do it themselves. Hopefully a feature can be added to only allow it done every 6 months. So people do not keep continually changing their names all time.
 
Well yeah, it would be nice if they were restricted to once every 3 months, and if they wanted to go over that - THEN they'd have to contact an admin.

So a compromise - it would be nice to see a feature that allows you to change your username yourself. With time limits.
 
I've checked all the links on profiles except "PM this member" and they all seem to be working again :)

The user is on/offline icon seems to be back - as are the "moderator / global moderator / senior member" etc stars are back too.
 
Everything's fixed... The quote button and editing is fixed. The RPG stats aren't text anymore. The banner for FFF that links to the Homepage is fixed as well.

This is extremely strange, that directory already has 777 permissions. I can't understand why permission would be denied.
 
This is a nice suggestion, I'm for it, but I'd say make it 3 months, 6 is too long IMO.
