Remember beating Ruby and Emerald? (and goldchoco)

i myself do not exactly remember anymore, how i beat them exactly. but it was definately with knight of the round and also final attack, i guess.
i enjoyed it as feeling having mastered ff7 together with having the gold chocoboo.

My mom attempted the Ruby Weapon fight way before there was any guides on that (internet wasn't really a thing back then), she spent fighting that thing 7 hours until the PS decided to crash

I remember how frustrated she was, so yeah it's definitely a fight I remember well.

The gold chocobo (all the colours at that) were always very fun, I hope they include it in the remake. Naming them all and getting yourself a shiny stable of all colours was an achievement in itself.

A dark secret of mine is that despite FFVII being my favourite game, I haven't actually replayed it with my own hands very many times. As a result, it has been perhaps a decade since I actually did any of this stuff myself. Therefore, I do not accurately remember exactly what I did when I defeated Ruby and Emerald Weapon. W-Item and W-Summon combinations and such, for sure, and using the best summons (like Knights of the Round) to get the job done.

And yet, I do remember breeding my chocobos and racing them to get the gold chocobo. What I can no longer remember is the names I chose for my birds.

If I can find time I'd like to replay it all and do it again.

I can't remember if I've actually beaten them.. my memory isn't very vivid about that prior to 9 years ago, and I know for sure on my last play through a few years ago that I didn't even attempt it. Maybe I should actually try this time, haha!

Man, breeding & racing those Chocobos was the best though. I also really hope that they implement that in the remake, it would just make my day. There was nothing more exciting than the victory music as the color you needed popped up bouncing on screen. The Chocobos in FFXIV were so stinkin' cute and so I can only imagine how adorable it would be to breed out some shiny babies.

tbe only thing i never achieved was getting all enemy skills by also ma ipulating them to use their innate skills. back that time it wasnt on online solutions yet, otherwise i would have definately did that too.

yea, it was pure fun to breed the chocos and race with them in gold saucer. how to get the right chocobos i found online and also how to beat the final weapons with their immense hps.

i loved to travel with the airplane and submarine underwater and later cids flying fortress. its pity the remake not having the complete world

 

[Six]

The enemy skills was always the most fun to me.

I’m actually still on a current play through as a challenge with Harlequin that we started last year…. Oops! We’re almost at the end, though. Just stopped playing for ages because life happened.

Challenge was a full completion play through, all limit breaks, all materias, all enemy skills, etc. Still gotta beat the weapons, get some materias up and pick up the missing enemy skills in the northern cave and then it’s Sephy time.

It’s been so long though May as well start over again.
