It does seem very nippy today, I have gotten no lag yet today (granted I only signed in a few minutes ago). Thankfully we did not have to lose the SB, thanks ofc Belazor

Why don't you just upgrade to the latest version? I think the only reason you didn't last time is coz of the RPG and no one uses that shit any more.

The ShoutBox is kinda what this site is about by a lot of members, so I'm sure they'll be looking at that last... 
I think I'm with Toni on that one, it might cost a bit more, but if it makes the site run smoother it would actually be in our interest with members visiting, etc.

Upgrading vBulletin won't solve anything (except make everything around the forum look prettier), the issue is that the points log has grown very very large due to the fact that this is a large forum.
To my knowledge there's no way to solve this, which is why I opted for disabling the offending page.
The rest of the forum and all its functionality still works perfectly, as far as I can tell

If it does cost more, then that price would be on the staff most likely, which seems to me a bit unfair. Considering from what I can see, the lag has been eradicated by the technical team, I do not see a problem with staying how we are
I don't have a problem with staying how we are either, it's just that the lag does become frustrating after a while.
I didn't know the update would only make things prettier. I don't really care for that. I just thought the newer boards would be able to deal with the activity more, for example other forums that upgraded above 3.8 and have huge boards. 
So, that's the only reason I was with the idea.

Well I'm not 100% sure whether vB4 handle big boards better - FFF is after all the biggest forum I have access to xD

I too thought the upgrading would help with the speed. You'd think an upgrade would be able to handle a lot more than the versions before it but yeah, do what you have to do I just hope the lag stops soon
