Red XIII's offspring

If Red searched the world for at least 250 of them years and maybe a slim chance that a female was left, they find each other, they fall in love, have a baby, or two, and thats that. Or maybe Red finds a whole civilization of their types, when we played FFVII it isn't like we went and explored the the entire world inside out, we only seen keypoints in the storyline.

Don't forget that in that 500 years later clip it shows that the lifesteam reclaims Midgar, the greatest city in the world. Hojo and all the other scientists were wrong on one thing, they said that grass could never grow back on Midgars soil. It was a jungle utopia.. Hojo was wrong once, he can be wrong twice about Red being the last of the species. Even still, when someone dies, they return to the lifestream. Maybe once humans was gone, the lifestream decides to reincarnate some of Red's type. Either the humans actually found Neo Midgar and abondoned Midgar, or the lifesteam wiped them out for being such filthy scum, and I think its the latter.

Right. Part of the speculation at the end of the game was that the Holy materia would rid the Earth of bad people...that's what Bugenhagen said might happen...
If Midgar was deserted 500 years later, then I'm sure you're right about the latter part.
 
Well, with all the theories there are, I'm still a little partial to the whole cloning one. Maybe Nanaki is the last of his kind and the cubs you saw in the ene of FF7 were just clones.

I will call them Mini-me.
 
One day Nanaki (also once known to his now long deceased friends as Red XIII), the last of his Tribe, was chilling out at Cosmo Canyon by the fire. He soon realise he is feeling some wierd tingling sensations on parts of his body, mostly his groin area. Unsettled about this he takes a walk around the great outdoors, heading Northbound.

He soon comes to a river, close to the little town of Nibelheim that just a year earlier a Fat Chocobo fell from the sky unexpectedly and ultimatly crushed the poor town to nothingness. Nanaki takes a drink of water from the river untill he stops, looks up and sees a Nibel Wolf in the distance. Suddenly the tingling comes back and Nanaki soon finds himself rushing towards the oddly feminine creature. The pair engage in convosation and after about an hours worth of quite frankly shit chat, Nanaki asks this fine specimen back to his place for drinks.

Back at Nanaki's gaff, the pair get through 8 bottles of wine and a few shots of Sambuca to hot things up. Nanaki then loses control of his new urges and proceeds to penetrate the Nibel Wolf, who has yet to even mention her name, with his hidden second tail that before he only used to water the flower bed of Elder Leo. He likes this feeling he has discoverd and continues, harder and much more vigourously....

In the morning Nanaki wakes up, only to find his mistress gone....he never sees or hears of her again until one day several months later a knock on the door is heard. Nanaki opens the door to find a basket containing little baby pups, looking very similar to Nanaki. He takes it apon himself to raise these little pups and teach them valueble life lessons such as don't drink too much Sambuca.

And thus this is how Red XIII of FF VII became a dad. Thankyou and goodnight.

Actually Red XIII is the only one who hints at him being the "last" of his race. Hojo said Red XIII was "endangered", and Bugenhagen said that Red XIII didn't know the whole truth about his race.

Put it all together and the conclusion comes to that there must have been other types of his species at other parts of the world. Also, Aeris + Red XIII would have been one screwed up offspring looking kid.

I think the theory that Red can mate with other animals of a similar family to be the most believable. e.g. a wolf. haha
 
If Nanaki had more powerful Genes than whatever he mated with then his offspring would look more like him, but if you look closely they do look a little wolfish ...

But the comment about the Asexualism is a good possibility, if his race had gone, then nature would take over for survival he would have to adapt as all things do.

But then I think its more likely that a few had fled to other continents and he found them on his travels :P
 
wait. did hojo really say nanaki was the last of his kind? i remember him saying that they were nearly extinct which doesnt mean theres only one left. then again i could be imagining things :P
