I know this dude can be pretty time consuming, and has high evade and attack points, but he drops pretty cool items, like Gemsteel, Ribbon, High Arcana and you can steal Megalixirs and stuff, so was just wondered if anyone's fought him and what level do you recommend fighting him at?

Seen a vid on youtube and it was doing 4000 odd damage to level 99 characters, so could be a problem before having bubble/bubble belts.

Also, anyone seen the level 99 Wild Surian in the Estersand? This dude is pretty tough, but it's pretty fun to do, in the first area entering from Rabanastre, there's the Wild Surian that won't attack you, if you keep getting the wolves to chase you and lead them to the Surian, he'll eat the wolves, levelling up each time, so just feed him until he's at level 99. I've NEVER been able to beat him, seen someone youtube do it, Zodiac Spear was doing something petty like 150 damage  he resorted to using Dark Matter to kill him quick and easy lol.

Anyone else tried that? If so, did you win and if you did, how?

Omg, how i wish i could get that damn chocobo. :mad2:

I tryed for about 1 hr each day, but it wouldn't appear! :gasp:. But as for the thing in Estersand, I've never heard of it. :P

What method were you using for the RC? Apparently you don't need to keep zoning back two maps, just use Immobilizega and Break on the two sets of Black Chocobos, once the one set has turned to stone and vanished, go to the other 3, do the same, by time that's done the first set you done it to would've respawned, keep repeating until the RC has spawned.

I have no idea. :gasp: It was such a long time ago, I think i was just killing the chocobo's and zoning in and out.

New methods to getting it always come up. :gasp:

Is frustrating when you're trying to do something hour upon hour, to then find a easier and less time consuming way.

I recommend fighting him just for the fun of it. His health isn't spectacular, but its attack power is. It has a 1/255 chance of appearing. (well around that)
As for the Wild Saurian, I don't have the patience to let him level up to 99. If he really is as tough as you said, then I suppose its worth it.

AHAH!!!
There's your reason to get the Wyrmhero Sword!! For this guy!! xDD
But yeah I'm in the process of making him lvl up....wow....I'm helping it to simply kill it later on...does that make me a traitor?

The Wyrmhero Blade won't help much. It has 130 attack, whereas the Zodiac Spear has 150. From that video, the Spear dealt mediocre damage, so its unlikely The Wyrmhero Blade will deal sufficient damage. I suppose his Defense is high, but perhaps his Magick Resistance is low; Oil and Firaga will be a useful combination.

Alternatively. you could just cast Death, and capiche...its over.

I guess the one hit spells will work since he really is just a beefed up low level enemy. This looks like a challange I might take since I have beten big red, Do not try unless level 99 or you'll get hammered almost instantly. Big Red does drop some pretty sweet stuff its just a matter of killing him.

He's in the Ozmone Plain, in the area just before Jahara. There's some black chocobos and the bottom end, and some near the Jahara entrance, if you use Immobilizega and break on one set, then run over to the next set, do the same, by time you've turned to second set to stone, the first set will be back, so got back and do the same.

Keep repeating this until the Level 99 Red Chocobo appears (usually he spawns near the Jahara entrance where the black chocobos were)

Alternatively, you can kill both sets of the chocobos in that area, zone away two/three map screens, and come back kill them again and keep repeating until the Red one spawns.

For the Saurian, I believe (that is, I'm not quite sure) that if you use guns, his defense stat will mean squat. Guns ignore defense (excluding Protect magick) as I've fouind with low level games. Meaning, you'll be able to hit regular, and fairly consistent!, damage with a gun weapon on a level 99 Saurian. :)

They're very useful in some circumstances such as Low Level challenges and when fighting enemies with high defense. However, they have some major drawbacks - You cannot form combos with them (this is vital against the top end hunts), they have low damage output once your strength reaches a certain level, their charge time is slower than other weapons (Wyrmhero Blade being the only exception) and the animation before attacking is a touch slower than other weapons. But the ammo's status effects are rather useful.

Yes, you can "feed" wolves to the wild saurian you have to lure them to it then it will perform [Cannibalize] thus eating and making it stronger. But if you make it stronger the exp and LP gained is the same from it's original lvl so a lvl 28-29 wild saurian made stronger to lvl 99 does make it stronger but it only gives the same amount of exp and LP.
