Can you synth weapons and stuff on FFX? Cus I've found better weapons than the ones that are for sale so I want to know if later I'll be able to synth later on in the game or would I just be wasting my Gil?

Um, you can customise weapons to have any combination of abilities you want, and if you customise them in a certain way, they create the weapons on sale at the shop, you just need the right items.
But if you're buying weapons, and you have better weapons, then yeah - you'd be wasting gil.

Once you reach the Guadosalam, you'll be able to customize weapons. I've pretty much found buying weapons a waste, though. Just grab what you can use best and don't worry about customizing equipment until you actually have need for it.
like death ward and deathproof for Yunalesca, because she casts megadeath, which rapes all of your characters.
Customizing weapons really isn't as fun as you'd think it would be, though. It's really only something that's fun if you cheat from the beginning and have an infinite amount of all the items.
