Help Questions about sephiroth/jenova

My name is john and i just regiostered in the forum
i´m on my second playtrough of ff vii and i reached a very confusing part in the story that i din´t even understand in the first one.
im at mnothern crater and i just saw the cinematic where cloud hands over the black materia to the frozen sephiroth and here are my doubts:
-If sephiroth was frozen all along who is this sephiroth the party conftonts ultil this part of the story?
and
- why did dr hojo wanted to provee the jenova reunion , what did he gain by reunitiing all jenova clones?
- what happed/where is jenova?

That Sephiroth is the body of Jenova. Sephiroth was using the link he has with Jenova via the Jenova Cells to maniuplate the remains of Jenova.

Jenova herself is a shapeshifter, and had not been completely dead (her heart was still beating). Sephiroth created a strong link with her body and made her transform herself to look like Sephiroth. It is her who you were chasing throughout the game, and that explains why you always had to fight Jenova at the times you met Sephiroth.

- why did dr hojo wanted to provee the jenova reunion , what did he gain by reunitiing all jenova clones?

He just wanted to see his research act out to the end.
I think he just wanted to see that he was right in predicting that such a reunion would occur.

You were chasing her all the time.
Her body was kept in Midgar (where you first saw her in that tank, headless). When "Sephiroth" appeared and the body was gone what you were essentially seeing was Jenova transforming into Sephiroth, escaping and running about in the Shinra HQ. It was Sephiroth-Jenova that killed the President, and also Sephiroth-Jenova that was to later kill Aerith.

After the barrier was set up at the Northern Crater and Meteor had been summoned there was no need for her to be wandering around anymore (her purpose was pretty much to get hold of the black materia and take it to the Northern Crater), so she is assumed to have stayed in the crater with Sephiroth. You next see her just before fighting Sephiroth where you fight her again.
