Question about the Buddy list

I was just wondering, can the Buddy/Friends list be used for anything? I mean it's nice being able to list your buddies but are there any features to it which I am unaware of? I just realised as I was checking my profile that I actually don't know anything about it.

Are there any nifty little tricks that you can do with it or is it just there to spice up your profile?

Nah not as far as Im aware of, I just find it helps me worjk out who people are. Like if you have a name change and your on my buddy list, I must know who you are but the new name has thrown me

Is it really important to be more popular? The main functions I can see is that it allows you to see everyone who you like and what their current username is, and to brag about how many people are your friends.

I quite like the friends list, it is very handy for seeing username changes as has already been said, also good for dropping usernotes aswell and its also fun to look at others and see whos their 'friend' or whos on someones buddy list

Whether or not the site still does this is beyond me but, when you add someone as a buddy and they, in turn, add you as a buddy, you become mutual friends, which has its own module in your profile.

You both have to add one another to be friends which does indeed show in your profile, other than that I don't think the buddy list is for anything else D:

They've summed it up basically, the buddy list doesn't have any special features other than adding people to your profile friends, apart from the "who's online" page, those in your buddy list will have a + next to their name.
