Okay so I'm not exactly sure wtf is going on but my PSP's sound is all fucked up. It totally does not work at all. I checked to see if I accidentally hit the mute button and no, I didn't. I tried plugging in my headphones and there is all kinds of static. O_O I've never once mistreated my PSP, I've never dropped it, thrown it or anything. To top that all off I finally fucking got Dissidia and my PSP decides to totally fuck up on me. Does anybody have any idea what might be the problem and what I can do to get it fixed? Thanks in advance.

It could be that sometimes with any type of gadget, sometimes they simply just have a moment and then the next day you go back to it and it's working perfectly fine again.

How long has this been an issue by the way?

It could be that something inside the PSP has given way? It doesn't sound like any bits are falling around in there when you move it around does it?

Though it's strange that this would happen considering you handle it so carefully.

The only thing I can really think of is that it's done the dodgy on you and the sound has just blown up all together and maybe you just need to send it in to get repaired. =/

Have you accidentally changed anything in your sound settings? None of the volume buttons are stuck or anything like that?

Possibly a software update could have been a dodgy one?

Sorry I couldn't be of more help. I just hope it doesn't happen to mine. =0

PSPs are quite poorly assembled and so it's quite likely that some wiring or internal component has just slipped out of place. If it's still under warranty then you'll be fine though.

I've only heard of two similar problems, one was something to do with where you put your headphones in (something broke off) which affected the whole sound system but when it was pulled out it was fine and the other was something to do with the motherboard or soundchip, it may have been possibly fried, however, with the latter one, the problem is if you take it apart to have a look and something happens (presuming you're under warranty) then you'll lose the warranty =/

Kinda late but i took my psp in to play n trade to fix its UMD drive, i had dropped it too many times that the whole drive had to be replaced. They can probably find the root of the problem as to why your psp sound isn't working properly.

Even though i voided the warranty by doing that (it was going to expire in a few hours anyway) i think i made the right decision. It only cost me 70 bucks and the way i see it better that then shelling out 170 plus tax for a new one.
