i know that VII and VIII is available on PSN store now for £8 (not sure on the US pricing) but i still own the disc based copy of the game but it will not play on my ps3, i have a 250gb console which it doesn't work on and i previoulsy had the 80gb fat one which it didnt work on either, my VII and IX work fine, does anyone in the PAL regions have copies that work? as i am sure its only certain PAL copies that have this issue well according to internet sites i have been to.

I shifted this over to the FFVIII help booth for you.

I think FFVIII has known compatibility issues with PS3. I haven't tried my copy on my PS3 yet but I remember reading about it. I found this thread on another forum relating to the issue.

Hope this helps. :)

As far as I have heard in Europe PSX games will only play on the 60GB consoles which were the very first ones to be released over here.

I know only one person who has one of these and I think the platinum version of FFVIII is the only one with a 100% guarantee of working on these consoles. As far as I know no console released since then has any backward compatibility, though I may not be completely right.
