I'm hoping someone has a solution to this, for it is bugging the hell outta me.

Okay, I download a copy of Windows Movie Maker and make a quick AMV to test it out. Now, the problem my computer has with this WMM (and one in the past that I had to delete because of it) is saving the project as a video. Everything seems all hunky dory 'til it gets to the saving process.

The time to save jumps from ten minutes to fourteen minutes...then to twenty minutes...then thirty minutes...and the time just keeps climbing. I had to stop it once it continued on past three hundred minutes.

Soo...anyone have a clue as how to solve this never-ending saving?

Make sure you save it to your computer to like 'my videos' make sure it is saved as Windows media file and make sure the file is not too large if you want to convert the video to other formats later on download something that lets you change video formats - just look it up on Google.

install again

if u have problems, maybe it a bad install, tryre-install the program or only try to find drivers of video, maye you got less of memory video.
maybe im wrong. hey whats the version its of movie maker, and onky can transform some formtas of video. tell me if u try this

I got a problem with Movie Maker myself. See, my brother & I are trying to make animations and save it onto MM. Problem is, it only allows one soud type at a time. Like let's say we want BGM to be heard along with the sound of punches. I see a separate slot for Audio only, but it won't let me use it. Any ideas?

Well, I downloaded WMM version 2 from another site to see how it goes. I also emptied my D:\ (roughly six gigs) and tried saving a movie there. This time, though, I got a message saying that either the files I used may have been moved/deleted, there isn't enough memory, or the spot I'm trying to save it to isn't there. o_O Do I keep getting bad versions of WMM?

@ Shadow: What files are you trying to use?

Ummm....Pivot, with sound effects and music. See, I'm working on an animation and I wanted to have BGM, and sound bytes. But, each time I try to do that, it always puts on thing in front of the other. Ex. I put a punching sound effect at the same time as a song, but when I do that, it puts the song in front of the punch. So you hear music for a while and then the punch. Why is that? As for your problem, I don't have the slightest clue.

Hmm...

...well, I was thinking of installing an actual version of XP instead of this pirated version that I apparently have. I have a couple questions to those knowledgeable before I do so, though.

1) Would I have to make sure my drives are wiped before doing so?
2) Does WMM come with it, or do I have to look for it again?
3) If I DO have to look for it, would someone PM me a site that has a GOOD copy?

This is actually a normal thing on most basic computers believe it or not, and it depends on the time length of the video you’re tying to capture as well. The process that takes forever is the rendering (saving) process of the file, which is also giving you that screwed up time of completion.
<o:p> </o:p>
BTW, the time estimate of completion is usually never accurate and will jump up and down throughout the rendering process, good ole Microsoft. Either way it’ll still take a looong time to render most video file regardless.

<o:p> </o:p>
It really all depends on the speed and age of your computer as to how long the full process ends up taking.
<o:p> </o:p>
What are the specs on your computer, such as Processor speed and type, amount of RAM and total hard disk space? This is the critical part of whether or not your computer will do this for you at all.

Yes, I would highly recommend backing up your work and wiping the drives before starting. A word of caution though, if this is a custom built computer, you may have to locate additional hardware drives after the reinstallation of Windows.

As for WMM, I’m almost positive that it’s bundled in with Service Pack 2 for Windows XP.
<o:p> </o:p>
Now, If just purchased that copy of XP, it should have Service Pack 2 integrated in. If it does not, here is the link to download XP SP2.
