Monsters
It’s the time of the year again
Where the children go trick or treating,
Unaware of the real monsters lurking
That they very well could be meeting,
Halloween reveals the celebrations
Of the creatures we give a beating.
But it does make you thoroughly wonder
Who are the monsters, the true evil within,
Behind closed doors can be entirely different
Opposed to masks they wear in the morning,
The day protects us from their horrifying faces
The night reveals a sight so chillingly terrifying.
Vampires, werewolves, demons, skeletons
Witches, sorcerers, ghosts, all of them,
Believing that they are fantasies is wrong
For they themselves are the curse of the damned,
Which we may ultimately become someday
The thriller will come and they will become the nemesis.
And when the transformation is finally complete
The monster will emerge, its strength immense,
Ready to devour its victims in its relentless rage
Even through this, all will be seen as such nonsense,
It is mindless and shall attack all who threaten it
Thus the legend of Halloween finally comes to be sense.

Fall Children
Children all around the neighborhood rejoice
For the season of autumn has arrived
A time to dress up as something scary
And scream “trick or treat” at the top of their voice
The special holiday of Halloween is now here
The fate of the night is determined by quantity
With a pillow case full of candy
The children can come home with a smile and a cheer
The journey starts at the fall of night
And going door to door in search of one thing
The start of screaming “trick or treat”
To see if the children can bring the adults fright
In the wake of the nights progress
The children go home to count their candy
With enough candy to last for weeks
For the fall children, Halloween was a success

Untitled
Five children went out on this Halloween
Night, all of them vanished without a sight
Here are their tales, please hold down the scream
Or you will be the next to vanish in the extreme
Number five was brave, thought he would survive
He headed out into the night, careless in his strife
The night swallowed him whole, with just one bite
His carelessness was his fall, he didn’t have time to fight
Number four was lost in a crowd so thick
No one saw the vampire pick him up quick
His mother and father searched everywhere
And decided in the end to go home, and not care
The third went up to Miss Dorothy's house
That little old lady, well size does not count
She greeted him nicely, opened the door
And closed it behind him, the boy now on her floor
The second was running home, rather quick you see
A zombie came out, tackling him and all he was to be
Ripping flesh from bone, and having no remorse
That little boy stood no chance while the devil took his course
The last little boy got home, with a dash
And was swiped from his bedroom for some quick cash
A little old witched needed the spirit of a good boy
For the potion she was brewing and he was the toy
So you see, Halloween night, can be such a freight
Be careful what you do, be careful all night
A demon is at bay, waiting for you to be alone
He might just pick you up and take you to his home.

The Mask
it hides who you are
but it does not go very far
those who know you can see
no matter who you pretend to be
they pretend not to know
but it will show
in how they act
and suspicion it will attract
even those who you never knew
will eventually see though
any deception you will don
and soon all of it will be gone
and all you will be
is someone like you or me
who tried to escape reality
and in the end
with the mask rend
you can not
undo the plot
that you tried to hide
the mystery is open wide
big or small
it will be open to all

Hallow's Night
Pumpkins aglow in the cold eerie night
Faces and black shadows with illuminating light
The lone house stood, unoccupied – or so it seems
Covered with powdered dust and sparkling web strings
The full moon summoned, the celestial divine
Yet the creatures lurk, standing in a line
On top of the hill, the magnificent house stood still
Beckoning the monsters to come at their will
The leaves rustled, the chimes slowly danced
Sharp and tingling melody enticed them in a trance
Goosebumps and tremors are creeping in slowly
As the narrowed door creaked opened wholly
A gust of wind swirled and formed into a figure
And screams were heard in silent rupture
At daybreak, the smell of something rotten
Permeated through, the candies forgotten
