my mate who i work with quite often has a 1.4 and i always try to use his rather than my 1.8 if i can. there's not much difference in performance, but the 1.4 is just nicer to use.

fucking...fuck. i've decided i don't like zooms anymore. primes are much simpler and jesus likes primes much more than he liks a zoom.

it is the kit. what do you have against zooms? and don't say because jesus hates them. i find mine really really useful

it's almost hard to argue with something like the 24-105 because (at least on a full frame) it covers super handy focal ranges. aside from the fact that i dont doubt it's a fucking awesome lens i'm (at least for now) not really into the telephoto range yet. i've mainly been using my lensbaby (basically a 50mm on my camera) and that fd 50mm 1.8 (80mm on my camera). i just prefer using my legs to zoom in and out now. plus i'm a fan of that wide aperature.

it does depend on what your needs are i suppose. a long zoom like that comes in handy a lot of the time for me, but i don't think i'd ever buy another one.
