playability..?

So. My friends and I currently play world ofwarcraft, we are real life friends who have migrated games with eachother starting way back in runescape. We have traveled thru runescape, FFXI, WoW and a few other obscure ones along the way. we have been waiting for FFXIV for years now.. pretty much since we started playing wow 3 or so years ago.

Here is our dilemma,
And I've been watching for any information on whether or not the game will be accessible via dial-up. I've found quite a few threads and they always have some fool who says "dial up still exists?" "go get cable noob" "don't only 3rd world countries use that?" so to clear it up:
yes it exists.
yes it sucks.
no we don't have any other options. it's NOT a money issue. It DOESN'T exist.
yes we've looked/tried other things.
including satellite which is shitty.. dial up runs better in the michigan boonies.

I currently tether with my cell phone which is ok.. still not very good at all but the best we have access to. Some of our friends aren't so lucky. They don't even have cell reception poor deprived hicks.

so please refrain from pointless posts.
My question is very simple. In your opinion will we be ABLE to play FFXIV.

I'm aware of lag.. good god i have played on it in every mmo i've been part of. It's not really an issue, just an annoyance.

from information you have gained about the game. will we be able to log in and participate or is it going to boot us off every few seconds if connect at all. I'm praying their will be options to allow the few hundred of us still living in the 3rd world country known as michigan to access.

well, this is a stupid question, but are you gonna be playing from a Ps3 or Pc, the pc, you can change the graphic resolution to help it run smoother on slow or terrible connections, on ps3, it will not be a problem as long as you have the diel-up cord in the ps3 for online

It's not going to happen. Sorry. Warcraft requires a certain amount of character data to be sent to your computer every single second, if you can't download it fast enough there is no way the game will run properly.

I searched but I couldn't find any information on this either. It doesn't look like SE has released the system requirements for the game just yet. Perhaps after the Beta test there will be more information.
