But... airlines do let you bring on laptops.

That is. Considering you can't actually.... you know.... do anything other than play games or watch DVDs. (i.e. no Interwebz).
Although I did have a flight where somebody left a laptop on the plane from the previous flight. Which they discovered after taxiing out on the runway. So we had to go all the way back to the gate, run through all the security checks again, then take off. So of course I missed my connection. Which was the last flight out. So I had to stay overnight in the DC airport.
tl;dr: Bad airport experience.

I think Terrible Terry Tate and the airline staff would have had a field day trying to explain that one.
Great, now we'll have to worry about them taking pillows away from airline flights too
