I don't if it's the same for all schools in the nation, but did you have the choice of going to pep rallies and assemblies and whatnot?
If so, did you like it?

I haven't bothered, looked like a load of hooblah to me. :P
Unless you can convinced me otherwise.

So no pep rallies? o_O
We get a whole hour and a half to decide whether or not we want to attend the in-school ones.
I never go.

We have pep-rallies. I have to go. I am on the dance team, so we perform for the school. haha. They are fun if planned right.

Ughhhhh!!!!!!! NOOOOOO!! I HATE PEP-RALLIES!!!! On the day of pep-rallies my school encourage to wear school colors and go to the home coming game. Of course, I wore all black on that day. It was hilarious when I found out my school football team lost to the worst team in the area. ;D

My school made us go to the pep-rallie. I always brought in a note from my parents on that day saying: I have a doctor's appointment. ^^

So all of you guys had mandatory pep-rallies.
How sad...joking :P. I had the choice to go to one because our stupid gym was too small to fit the whole school together =\

On a side note, our football team was un-undefeated; 0-10
Whoo hoo!

I went to teh ones we had in high school because it got us out of class early. I'm not even sure if we ahve them at our college since it's not too big, but I don't go to them anymore. I got better junk to do.

We have a choice, I usually go since the other option is sitting in the Auditorium.

We were made to go in middle school, and yes they were a big fat waste of time. In my high school though we can either go or leave.

I'm not sure why anyone would choose to stay, but they do. I don't but I guess some people care.

We were forced to go to pep rallies in high school. I ranked it somewhere between painful and "balls in a vice". I would've been in a classroom. lol

Whenever I did go to the pep assemblies, I always booed at the jocks and at the players who participated in the games they held. Most of them seemed suggestive, making me wonder why the principal still allowed them to play them. What games? Allow me to elaborate...

Orange Squeeze
~Players line up in boy-girl order and must pass an orange to the other end of the line. The orange is held beneath the chin and it must not be dropped, otherwise they have to start over again.
-It pretty much looks like they're making out during the 'pass'.

Life Saver on a Toothpick
~Again, boy-girl order. Everyone has a toothpick in their mouth and the first person has a life saver on his/hers. Same goal as the Orange Squeeze; get the life saver to the end of the line. They cannot touch the life saver with their hands, so they use the toothpick in their mouths instead.
-Looks like a bad 50's teenage first-kiss scenario.

Spoon on a String.
~Boy/girl order once again. There is a spoon tied to the end of a long string. The spoon must be passed through the clothes of the people in line and the string must be pulled out at the end of the line. Boys pass the string up their clothes, girls pass the string down their clothes.
-Crabs, anyone?

Soooo yeah. Otherwise, I just hung out in the bathroom for about ten minutes as everyone filed into the gym, then just linger at the office until the bus arrived.

My whole class did that once, well, back 'home'.
But it was using eggs in plastic strapped to your belt and you had to swing it.
The first to team to break both eggs wins.
Rather weird.

Everything was mandatory too, cheerleading being the most embarassing one.

I think I remember having to go to one pep rally as Freshman in High School, but it was nothing as bad as what Shen had to endure. Sheez, I think I'd a rather stayed at home that day and watched 6 hours of Barney and friends.

Anyway, after that year I always hung out with the crowd that ditched classes or the entire day of school for that matter. So we always saw a pep rally as an opportunity to ditch the rest of the day without getting caught. :D

Lol... Never really bought into the whole Hight School Spirit routine.
