Some songs on their albums get too much attention or aren't much liked. Which ones do you think are great despite the animosity/lack of interest or are poor despite the generally positive opinion?

I'm gonna vote for The Skies Above. The music itself is good and the singing/lyrics are nice as well.

Also on a re-listen, their version of Otherworld isn't as bad as I thought.

Overrated....not sure. Probably J-E-N-O-V-A. i don't much care for it at all.

Hmm... I don't know, I cannot think of any overrated ones... I think that 'Maybe I'm a Lion' is underrated. That is genius. Absolute genius. 8D Also, Hunters Chance and Vamos Alla Flamenco, to mention a few more. Works of art!

I like all TBM tracks.

One of the ones I'm not as keen on though isn't on the albums and that is One-Winged Angel. It's good etc, and is a good version of it, I just don't like it as much as I like the others.

Underated... I'm not sure. I haven't really read ratings on the songs to know what people like or not.

I've heard a lot of hate for The Skies Above, so that is probably one of my underated choices. I love the song. It's really great that they created lyrics for a previously instrumental piece, and Mr. Goo did a great job in it, I felt. I'm sad they haven't done anymore in this style since (apart from Darkness and Starlight, but that was a written song beforehand anyway).

Are the Black Mages so popular that they have overrated or underrated songs? I haven't met much BM listeners in my life, so I havent heard much critique (or praise for that matter) on any of their songs.

Personally, I listened to all their albums and haven't heard any song that I dislike or think should be played different/not at all. I like the Skies Above, it's a nice twist to have some vocals in a BM song for once, and the lyrics are quite nice. I was also quite suprised they managed to make a emotional and delicate song like At Zanarkand into a actually quite good rock song with a more heavy sound.
