Overdrive gauge won't rise as quickly as it used to [FFX]

Hi,

I'm having this small problem on my FFX game. My overdrive gauge doesn't rise as quickly as it used to. I have tested it on Stratoavis.

So here's the situation:

When I was at lower levels, I used the Overdrive mode Warrior. With my Caladbolg, which has Triple Overdrive, each strike filled my Overdrive gauge by one third.

Now with my stats ubered up, each strike with the same weapon on the same enemy fills my overdrive gauge by about 1/16.

I've even tried this with Comrade on another fiend: Against Ironclad, he used to kill me with one hit, filling my overdrive gauge completely. Now Ironclad can't kill me in one hit; but, enemies who can kill me in one hit, only fill my overdrive gauge by one third.

I just need to know, is this linked to levelling up? Or is my problem abnormal? And will this problem affect my battle with Penance?

I guess maybe it's just cause your stats are higher than what theyu used to be? Ive never really had a problem with it....Id have my two min guys on comrade and Yuna on healing and it would fill up just fine =/
 
The system is level based.
I think it is for warrior it is
100 X Level X str.
And stoic it should be
250 X Level X def.
So as you get stronger it gets harder to reach it.
But you should have unlocked better ones by now.
Ex.
There is one that raises you bar for winning.
 
Thanks for your help, guys. This solves the problem. I was just making sure it was linked to levelling up.

Slayer works pretty well as an overdrive mode in Omega Ruins, each kill filling up your overdrive gauge by 60%. Now I use Comrade, and my overdrive gauge only fills up quickly when I have a weak party member who's mode is on Stoic.

As for Rikku when I'm battling Penance, I'll need her overdrive gauge to fill up every time she gets hit. So with having around 70,000 HP, is that ideal if I want her overdrive to fill up quickly? The reason is so I can fully heal the party.
 
it also depends on if your killing the monster or not, as warrier is when you damage an enemy physically and Slayer is to make it charge when your character kills a creature

Victor I think allows you to have a full overdrive bar, but only if you win the last fight.
