Someone once told me she was one of the most powerful women in America. Would someone care to explain why? I thought she was just a talk show host...
 
Because she has an assload of money, owns a magazine company and a myriad of homes and mansions, is loved by all for her charity, etc. etc. etc.

Plus, she can give away a free convertible to every audience member in a single day. That's some spending powah.
 
I think she is like the richest person on the planet, well, one of them. I know she's seriously wadded tho.

Why does one person need so much money o_O Id end up giving most of it away :wacky:

All that I know of Oprah is what I hear from American sitcoms, and I gather that she is very respected and influential and whatnot. Did not too bad for a talk-show host. :monster:
 
That's all I knew of her aswel, didn't see Rikki Lake raking in all that money o_O

I wonder if she's like some drug baron on the side....
 
Apparently, she's like, one of the worlds only Black Billionaires, but gives loads of it away to charity.

Can't say Iv seen her about at all recently, so Iv no idea. I don't really watch all that much tv tbh, it's mostly just there as background so I never really have any idea what is going on in the world :wacky:
 
her talk show is probably the reason why she is very powerful.
millions and millions of people watch her tv show everyday, that means she could influence a huge amount of people, power isnt necessarily from being a world leader.

Yep!

Oprah is a very powerful person, and the fact that she is black and a women makes her even more powerful. She gives and gives and gives, not only on her talk show, but through charitable events also.

She is so rich, if she wanted to give everyone in the world 2 million dollars she could, with hundreds of millions left over for her self. She is not even on the "Top 500 Richest People" List. Imagine what impact those 500 people could do in the world if they were all like Oprah Winfrey.

She came to daytime talk-show host as an overweight "colored" person, and did inspirational thing after inspirational thing. Her stories were amazing. Her every move brings tears to the most senile eye.

Sometimes she can be a little weird, but aren't we all? She is an extremely powerful women.

Yeah, I heard about that. That was really something...

Oprah is the richest woman in the world indeed. I don't know much about her since I don't watch her shows, but I hear amazing news that always relates to her.
 
Anyone watch that new Lewis Black show on Comedy Central last night?

In a match between Oprah and the Catholic Church, it was determined that Oprah is the root of all evil.

She probably wasn't pleased if she happened to watch. haha
