Online Multiplayer [FF]

Do you think online co-op and mulitplayer should be a standard feature in all FF games from here on in? Honestly, I think it would be absolutely fantastic. I know they did some type of co-op on Final Fantasy IV but it would be nice if it were online and a stardard features in any upcoming titles.

I think if you had a team of four, you could split the group two teams. It would allow each person to play and you could experience the story together. The biggest problem with it is that people don't tend to play RPGs for an equal amount of time as their friends. I can chug through a game in a week and it'll take Busta till half past forever to finish the first objective. (Granted he will be level 87 when he does complete the first mission) That's more of a problem for the players though, not the developer.

Hmmm its an interesting idea, but i dont really see it working, what you said about different players playing for different lenghts of time would hinder gameplay. Also, if the devolopers were to take on a task like this they might focus more time on creating smooth online gameplay, and less on the storyline. TBH i enjoy playing RPGs by myself and id be happy if square-enix just focused on the storyline rather than trying somethine new
Theres no doubt tho that online gaming is the way forward, i wouldnt be surprised if we seen a similar idea incorporated into a future game. They would just have to think really carefully about how they do it.

I think there's a big difference between and MMORPG experience with compromised plot and lots of online players and one or two other player in a co-op game. Most games with co-op support are exactly the same in either single player or co-op. It's just an extra feature.

The only game I recall being to co-op on FF wise was FFIX. I would honestly prefer they not add an online co-op feature, but just a co-op on the game, that way when you had your buds over you could play it with them and not have to worry about someone taking two characters from your party and beating the game with them why you slept.
