i read horror stories about this and watched the 14 min youtube video where a lvl 100 guy used 9999 renzouken hits to win... continously

i have like 9820 for zell, 7840 HP for squall and 9999 for selphie. lvls like 51, 74 and 48... respectively.

i tried to fight him, used zell's limit break after he kept killing me. i only have 1 megaelixir now and 4 heros (which i desperately need more of). i have no idea how ot play the cards. i read that bahamut/tonb3rry gfs (which i have) can make 100 megaelixirs

i took out like 250,000 HP of omega weapon prior to him finishing me off for my first try. then i gave up playing.. becasue i already finished the game.

have you guys beat him? what were your stats and what was your strategy

Hi there,

Omega is definitely one of the most difficult bosses in the game, if not the entire series. I did beat him (yay!), it was a while ago though so I'll try to remember the best I can. :yay:

It sounds like your stats are pretty good. When I first beat him my characters were all LVL 100 and I had all the best weapons and limit breaks. I wasn't that high in stats when it came to junction though. You should definitely have the Lionheart weapon for Squall, his Renzouken and Lionheart limit breaks helped me the most. It takes so much damage! Then use whatever other characters you have with good limits. People say Irvine and Zell's ones are really good too. I myself never used to use them, instead I used Selphie's Full Cure (heals everyone to the max so don't have to keep using Megalixirs), and Rinoa's Invincible Moon (makes everyone invisible, the same way the item hero would work. So don't need a lot of them). Her Wishing Star limit is great too.

Start by casting Meltdown on Omega, I believe this lowers his defence. The Aura magic is very helpful, you can keep using your limits as much as you want. Then basically defend, heal and attack. Cast Triple (Can use Cerberus) then Shell, Protect, Haste, Regen, Aura, Curaga. All the good stuff. Things like Auto-Regen, Auto-Shell, Protect, Haste, etc can be very useful. You can learn different commands from GF's like Recover and Revive (recovers a character's full HP). Try to junction all your best magic spells to HP, Strength and Defence. One's like Full Life, Curaga, Ultima, Meteor, Flare, etc.

When I was at LVL 100 I had to junction 100 Death magic spells to my Status Defence. You can get these from some monsters outside where you fight him. As I remember going into the battle and straight away being killed with the first move, haha. :P

I think it's too late now (unless you had a game save before you went into the castle) to get all the rare cards and change them into items. I think you MAY be able to get back from the portals outside the castle and find the Card Queen (somewhere near Esthar?) but I'm not sure if you can get any good ones. If you can, it's Quezacotl that has the 'Card Mod' ability which allows you to refine cards into some really nifty items! I didn't really do this though, I liked to keep all the cards. :P

Hope I've helped in any way, good luck! :)

He is a bad@$$

You can beat him in one move. Selphie has a limit break called the end which kills him.

If you want to fight him make sure you have the defend action. There is one move that will more then most likely kill everyone, bar the one who defends in time.

If you read some guides you will know that Omega has fixed attacks. Meaning he uses all his moves in the same order everytime.

Also I've heard that Omega is always level 100.

honestly I was maxed out 255 on almost all stats, lvl 100 for everyone using Irvine, Rinoa, and Squall, had Ultima or Quake equipped to Health or Attack. Summoned Doomtrain with Rinoa immediately to get as many status effects as I could. Having Cactaur lvled up to 100 also helps, I'd junction him to Rinoa as well so she has a powerful attack to follow up on after Doomtrain. Use some Aura spells and heroes to keep Irvine and Squall at their limit breaks, Irvine's AP ammo does 9999 everytime, and Renzokuken into Lionheart 9999 really breaks him down, I haven't tried it with Selphie or Zell ever in my party, and used Quistis only once. Regardless its a tough battle, just don't forget to draw Eden, well I guess you could as long as you haven't defeated Tiamat yet.

Just remembered Ultima Weapon had Eden not Omega Weapon so if you have Eden (Which if you're at Omega Weapon you should) USE IT!!!!

Like Sora_lion_heart said, i think Omega is almost always maxxed out in levels no matter where your characters are at strength-wise in the game, so if you leave Omega until the end when you have nothing left to do in the game except beat him, you might as well get your characters souped up for one heckuva battle.

I myself didn't beat him that I remember. I do remember facing him, but the battle was going so long and I didn't want to rely mainly on Squall's Limits, so the game took too long and I don't think i ever went back to facing him or attempting to after I turned off my system that day.

He's beatable, sure. I'd just say get your levels up big time or at least have a helluva good junctioning setup.

I've beaten him by using some Holy Wars (modded the Gilgamesh card, thank you CC quest). If you want to do it without Hero or Holy Wars items you need luck and a tight planning of your moves (which can be found on the Internet, of course), which I think is just as lame as using Holy War. At least with the Holy War, the fun was on my side :D

For tactics, cast meltdown, cast triple on your mage (character with the highest magic stat, for me Rinoa) and the mage will keep Omega Weapon in a constant rain of meteors. Your other partymembers (Squall and Irvine for me) can use limit breaks (if you dare to cast aura before using Holy War) or attacks, or simple skip turns since meteor is the main damage dealer. It's not a waste to use your meteors, aura's and items here, after Omega your only real oppenent is probably Ultimecia (= easy when compared to mr Omega) anyways.

Yea, I've beaten him. He's a long battle. If you want to make it easier (did this on another save file) get lots of Heros (that's the drink that makes you invisible to attacks...right?) and then use them on Squall but only after his HP is low.

That way he is still there with low HP to preform his Limit Break. You should be able to end him really easily then ^^
