So List them off. I know there has to be some good ol 80s kids around here.
So feed off those fond memories of blowing into that cartridge, wiggling it around, and turning on that fantastic 8 bit goodness.
Or if you got the games as roms on your computer that will work as well.

SO
Ill start with mine.
IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER

  • Ninja Guidan II
  • Tecmo Bowl
  • Tecmo Super Bowl
  • RBI baseball I & II
  • Skate Or Die
  • Mario I II III
  • Double Dragon I & II
  • Zelda
  • Final Fantasy I
  • Lolo
  • Snake Rattle and Roll
  • Silent Service
  • Ninja Turtles
  • Ninja Turtles Arcade
  • Off Road
  • Gemfire
Ill Stop there, I guess one could babble on and on about those games.

The good ol' NES days when video games entered my life. My favorites were...

Duck Hunt
Dr. Mario
Nintendo World Cup
Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros. 3
Super Spike V'Ball
Tetris
Yoshi's Cookie

These are the only ones I can think of. Fun fun games~

Nothing surprising from me.

Metroid
The Legend of Zelda
Super Mario Bros.
Tecmo Bowl
Duck Hunt
Ninja Turtles Arcade
Tetris

Oh man
I forgot about WORLD CUP soccer and DODGE BALL
Man where those fun.

Mario cart
Super Mario World
Mario 3
Donkey Kong Country

That's about it, can't think of any others, aside from the other Marios, but I didnt like them HALF as much as the Marios listed so there's no point adding them :wacky:

Edit* Lolduckhunt, I used to just go right up to the screen and shoot them, then get yelled at >_>

Oh and I quite liked that Megaman game aswel....

I miss my NES, I kick myself for giving it away.....and my SNES has a dodgy powerpack -__-

^ Apart from Mario 3, they're all SNES games. =p

I didn't have a NES, I was a Master System man so I never got to play many NES games apart from remakes like in the Mario All-Stars collection on the SNES which I guess you could count them at a stretch. I've never had the urge to go and try and play any games from that era anymore, the SNES/Mega Drive consoles have more of my interest.

I am a fan of the first Mario Bros game though and wouldn't mind playing the first two Metal Gear games at some point.

Although I was very young when SNES came out (probably like 3 or something) but i still got the chance to play some of those games.

Jaws, what not to love about it?

Ghost and Goblins- Love it, but still cant get past that second level

Mario Games

Ledgendary Wings

Man this brings me back...

Super Mario Bro. I & II
Zelda
Double Dragon II (I think it was II)
R.C. PRO-AM II
Mike Tysons Punch-out
Battletoads
Little Nemo: The Dream Chaser
Who Framed Roger Rabbit

There's more but thats all I can think of right now.

I didn't have my own NES when I was a kid, but I remember playing my cousin's NES every once in a while.

Duck Hunt
Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros.
Bad Dudes (lol)
The Legend of Zelda

Let's see how far down I can dig for oldschool gold...alphabetically...!

Abadox - Basically a reskinned Gradius, but that's cool and it looked gross too, ha!

Altered Beast
- I mostly played this game in the arcades, though...effing awesome sidescrolling beat 'em up (a genre all but lost in the sands of time & advanced graphics)

Arkanoid
- Everyone's played some version of this game because it's fun & addicting paddleball action...with power-ups!

Bad Dudes
- ARE YOU A BAD ENOUGH DUDE TO SAVE THE PRESIDENT!?!? Another game I mostly played in the arcades (remember arcades? having to leave the house to play video games with people you didn't know? no, of course you don't...)

Batman
- Easily one of the BEST Batman videogames EVER...kind of sad when you think about it that LEGO Batman is the best we've gotten since this 8-Bit gem...Don't fuck with the Bats in this one, he apparently isn't above using what looks like a gun of some sort...and shuirkens...>_> It was actually some pretty hardcore platforming action.

Blaster Master
- Pretty interesting combination game where you're a tank through about half of it and a lil chibi dude in a helmet picking up power ups though the other half...and shooting everything that moves throughout.

Bomberman
& Bomberman II - More great games I played mostly in the arcades! What's that? How old am I? STFU!!

Bubble Bobble
& Bubble Bobble II - I SUCK at Bubble Bobble...but they were always fun to play anyways. That's quite a testament to the series, that you can still have fun even when you're getting your ass handed to you.

Captain America and the Avengers
- Why is it "and the Avengers" when the Cap is an Avenger too? Who the fuck knows? Maybe they were going to make a really bad soft rock band after the game came out...You can play as the Cap, the Vision (not the gay green, yellow & red colored one either), Iron Man or Hawkeye...This was one of my favorite dorky oldschool arcade games until I saw the 8-joystick, 3-screen X-Men arcade machine (which I don't think has been beaten as the most awesome thing I ever saw in an arcade that wasn't a girl kicking ass at a Street Fighter game)...

Contra
& Super C - Two of the greatest sidescrolling shooters of all time...This was back in the day when they didn't worry about piddly little things like ammo...You just wanted that damn Spread power-up before your friend got it!

Double Dragon
- DD was THE sidescrolling beat 'em up of choice back in the day. For some reason, though River City Ransom never caught on as much over here as the DDs did...Or maybe I just missed it...idk...

Dragon Quest
- The RPG that started a effing craze in Japan...1-on-1 battles throughout...You start with not much more than the skin on your back and a few vague clues about a Princess trapped somewhere...

Dragon Quest IV
- Yeah, I'm skipping II & III, no real reason, they're both great too...but DQIV is my favorite 8-Bit RPG...There's not a lot to choose from, but this is definitely top tier...Fleshed out characters! That was a big step for the series, really...Very linier in the beginning while introducing all of the characters, but then the world really opens up and you can do w/e you want (in all cases beating FF to the punch)...

Duck Hunt
- If you had a NES, you had a Light Gun & probably a copy of this game...If you ever played it, you, like me, always...ALWAYS...wanted the opprotunity to shoot that sonofabitch dog who would laugh his stupid face off if you happened to let a duck get away...It was also a neat game because the 2nd Player could control the ducks to try & fuck with you...Oh, and if you had the orange light gun, you were gay (they've done the research, it's true!).

Excitebike
- Clearly one of the BEST theme songs...But also just an amazing racing game...with the ability to create custom tracks, it still ranks as one of the best.

Final Fantasy III
- I'll skip the first FF as well (I wouldn't put II on this list at all)...Because III is simply one of the best 8-Bit RPGs with DQIV...The introduction of their Job Class System for reals this time was a great accomplishment...

Gradius
- Probably the NES's best shooter...and quite a great one at that...

Gun.Smoke
- A western themed top-scrolling shooter that easily added to my gaming callus...

Kid Icarus
- Climbing, shooting arrows, climbing, collecting hearts & more climbing...Fall & die. Yet it was fun with it's ridiculous challenge and that ever closing in bottom line that meant death no matter if you knew where the landings were under that line...It was like a freaking black hole was constantly following you...V_V

Kirby's Adventure
- Kirby is never difficult, but this one was pretty stupid...but it was stupid, simple 8-Bit platforming fun.

Kung Fu
- One of my favorite ReMixes is of this game's theme...I also happen to suck at this game. Damn those clone soldiers...!! This is why stem cell technology will turn against us...! 8-BIT CLONE ARMIES!!!

The Legend of Zelda
: The 1st One That Didn't Have a Subtitle - Duh. I'm not going to include Adventure of Link because it was weird & different & scared me with its weird differentness...

Little Nemo: The Dream Master
- It's apparently based on some sort of freaky older manga or something...anyways, you throw candy at monsters and either ride them or WEAR THEIR BODIES AS SUITS!! Lots of trippy scenery & freaky monsters in this unique platformer (& I usually hate this genre)...

Maniac Mansion
- Who didn't put the gerbil in the microwave?

Marble Madness
- Has this been remade on DS or something yet? Seems like they could easily slap a motion sensitive gimmick on this and it'd be a hit again...

Mario Is Missing!
- j/k

Mega Man II
- I'll skip the rest in this series as well, but they're pretty much all deserving...I think II & III were the best, though...II especially...but w/e...Gotta love the Blue Bomber...

Metal Gear
- Interesting game and the first stealth game...but good lord was it unforgiving! I cannot play Metal Gear w/o save states...It cannot be done.

Metroid
- Duh.

Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!
- You are Little Mac, fighting your way through a varied cast of racial stereotypes in hopes of getting your teeth knocked out by Mike Tyson (back in his prime, pre-Zell face tattoo)...

Mother (aka Earthbound ZERO)
- This is the other of the Top 8-Bit RPGs, I think, with DQIV & FFIII...It shows all of the greatness that would later really shine through with the two sequels...A little rough around the edges, but still a solid play.

Ms. Pacman
- This is THE difinitive Pacman game. Accept no substitutes. Co-op 2-player is great, especially since you can mess around with the other player if you want by bumping them into stuff...lol

Ninja Gaiden I~III
- They were all awesome and all had ninjas...what more can you ask for?

Pinball
- Yup, now you too can be the sad sack that doesn't even play an actual pinball machine, but you can sit at home and play a virtual pinball machine! My favorite part was the weird Mario mini-game where you had to save the princess by basically pulling an Arkanoid on her prison...otherwise, the game could get kind of boring and isn't much of a substitute for an actual pinball game...

Rad Racer I
& Rad Racer II - again, j/k...sorry Square, but no dice...

Rampage
- A monkey, a lizard & a werewolf fuck shit up. You'd think you'd get tired of eating people & punching the shit out of buildings, but you just don't...You get tired of the puny humans shooting at you, though...>_>

Rampart
- I played this game a lot in the arcades as well...You basically build up walls around a castle, place cannons & try to stop intruding ships from landing on your shores & landing their little people who invade the castles...It's better than can be explained...>_>

River City Ransom
- It was Double Dragon with stats & special attacks!...and a disturbing, eye-gouging shower scene...>_<

The Simpsons: Bart Vs. The Space Mutants
- I no longer have the patience for this game...but you basically went around painting stuff that was purple yellow or something from what I remember...there was also a few funny gags here & there like being able to pick up a quarter to use the phone to prank Moe...

Skate or Die!
- It wasn't quite Tony Hawk back then, but it was what we got and it was pretty good too...though I still to this day have no flipping idea how to do tricks on the half pipe properly...>_>

Smash T.V.
- Another arcade gem...Why hasn't this game gotten a dozen sequels? We may never know...But it was simply awesome while it lasted...How the hell would this be played on a NES, though?? In the arcade I remember it was played with two joysticks...>_>

Spy Hunter
- Ah, remember when this wasn't a sloppy 3D series? Just a great topdown view, upscrolling shooter with a bitchin theme...

Super Mario Bros.
& Super Mario Bros. III - I'm actually not much of a fan of the SMBII we got...But I & III are amazing games.

Tecmo Super Bowl
- A classic football (NFL) game with big names...Joe Montana & Steve Young FTW!! Remember when the 49ers were good?

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Arcade Game
- I would include the first game, but it was brutal and made me cry at multiple points...anyways, this beat 'em up is how we all mostly came to know & love the TMNT crew and that's probably for the best.

Wario's Woods
- Probably the best oldschool puzzle game you never played. You get to play as a toadstool!! Picking crap up and piling it on other crap! Boss fights were actually pretty fun.

Okay, only a little top 3 from me, since I cba to do a lot of commenting on a bunch of games. :P

Super Mario Bros.

First video game I ever played, which was a good 17 years ago now... XD This game, to me, is the definition of Classic, I can still remember walking into those Goombas and not jumping over pits...

I caught on eventually though, I was very young, and my brain had yet to be fully developed to say the least. But anyways, quite enough about me, about the game more now.

Like the sound effects, I try to get coins just to here that noise, or break blocks to here the sound effects of them breaking, as I watched the broken block pieces fall quickly off the bottom of the screen. Nostalgic indeed, playing that demo of it in SSBB.

The music is classic too, everything about the game just seemed so good, and fun to me back in the day, I even got advanced enough in skill to get through the whole game, it presents a good challenge too, which I like about it.

Demon Sword

Anybody got this game? This is a classic, I just love waiting in one place for those skeleton tiger/dog creatures to come flying from all angles, and chop 'em down with the sword while being invincible, I got WAY more than 99 lives from doing that, can't remember what was the highest, I am pretty sure Y9 is one of the things that replace the tens number when you exceed 99 lives.

And again, yet another game with good music, I particularly like that music that plays when entering one of those areas that you need a key to get into, then fight a mini-boss, getting a little prize from it.

Double Dragon

Ah yes, I got pretty darn dominant at this game, just keep knee jumping anyone that approached. XD Killed them quick, since it is powerful and really send them flying, even the bosses.

Yet again good music, though that stage where the purple eyes appearing and disappearing, which used to scare me pretty good when I was really young for some reason... :P

And I enjoy the sound effects, just one reason why I sometimes go all through a stage knee jumping! XP

That will do for now... >.>

I loved super international cricket and you could appeal at any time you wanted hahaha

I never had a NES until recently, but my cousin used to have one and she lived with my grandmother so I got to play on it alot!

My favorites were and still are
Paper Boy 2
Kirby's Adventure
Barbie
Alfred Chicken
Tiny Toon Adventures
Super Mario Bros. 2 and 3

I have them downloaded to play but am going to buy them now that I have a NES of my own.

NES games? At the top of my head...

All the Super Mario games
Kirby's Adventure
Dr. Mario
The Zelda Series
Duckhunt (awesome game)
I believe there was a yoshi's cookie game for the NES. I liked that one too XD
The FF games were innovative at the time so they're on my list of favorites. But of the series not my favorites because obviously they're primitive for what we have now.

Bah that is all I can think of atm. XD I'm sure there are more games I have that I enjoy. =P

I love NES! I have a pretty large collection of games for my NES but my absolute favorites have to be Contra and Super C. I never get tired of playing them. I also love the Mario Games and Legend of Zelda.

The NES destroyed my brain. Oh, so much time spent playing the same stage over and over, only to die a few seconds into the next...

Some of my favourites include:
Super Mario Bros. 3, which was my first and possibly greatest gaming experience ever
Mega Man 2, which I still play to this day, albeit usually on my DS
Legend of Zelda, which I actually haven't played for 10-15 years... I remember not being able to solve any of the puzzles without my dad assisting me, but I still got hooked on it somehow
Castlevania II: Simon's Quest, which was the first game I ever bought. The vampires in the villages gave me nightmares for a few weeks, but I loved it still
Bionic Commando, which required some weird apparatus to be inserted into the NES before it'd play. Very innovative, great music, and finally a game easy enough for me to play through the whole thing on my own
Probotector, which is the European(?) version of Contra, with awesome robots instead of big, dumb men. Great multiplayer fun
Little Nemo, which was hard as Hell, but throwing candy at animals never got old
Gargoyle's Quest, which was just a solid game

There were loads of fun games for that system. I still have my NES out, but I haven't dusted it off and used it for quite a while. Great memories, though.

Zelda I&II

Super Mario Bros II

Castlevania I/II/III
