This SUCKS! I found summons before the best thing you could ever hope for, but NOW...

Okay, I was Onion Knight battling against Bartz. I needed to level up OK since I bought really good equipment, so I made Bartz 7 lvls higher than me with his strength set to High (Equipment). I do this all the time...
The battle was going SO well for me. I broke him a couple times, and I just kept piling up on BRV.
The EX Core came out, but I was in the middle of a chase, so I left it alone. By the time I went after it, it already had both wings (yay me).
So I had at least 1000-2000 BRV right, I EX Burst and got him with and HP attack, and at the start of my EX Burst Special, I broke him again. I had killing blow ready right there. BUT, I completely forgot which summon I had, because I didn't care at all... and it turned out to be Bahamut Auto... Which brought my BRV down to 0. Then HE summoned Shiva Auto and my BRV wouldn't raise at ALL.
WASTE OF AN EX BURST! REALLY!

After that... he was beating me like crazy, it's not even funny.
I had no summon, and he had full EX. So when he Burst, I avoided him until it expired. 'Cause he was going to KILL ME, I was going to break soon... and Bartz's special goes on for what, 5 hits?

The battle carried on for a little while more..... and I'd rather not say the ending....

Yeah,summons can really suck in this game, but sometimes, they rock! I mean, I equiped Ifirt auto to my main man, and this practically doubles your brv points when you break te other person. I sometimes end up with 4000 brv points! Though, I really do hate most summons. Useless... annoying. In the way sometimes.

Ifrit's my favorite summon
Along with Leviathan and Marlboro (if I'm Cloud or Squall, the people who have to be up close).
But yeah! Most of theme are extremely useless. Like Phoenix auto is okay, but if you have Demon Wall, then what's the point? xD

I dont have all the summons but the ones I have are so far good. Plus you need to replay some areas to get some of em. I agree yes some effects of the summons suck but just use odin and he will break your opponent. And CAEDUS ITS PSP

Odin automatically breaks the opponent? Which story did you get him in?
From Warrior of Light's...? *headdesks* he's my worst.I still need to finish his story, bleh.

Battles can be won in a lot of ways in this game. You can end up chipping away at your opponent's HP by using heaps of HP Attacks. You can finish it in one move by building your BRV to match their HP. You can strategically plan all your moves to counter those of your opponents. You can stagger your opponent every time they try to hit you. You can do a LOT of things. One way of winning is to turn the tables on your opponent with a Summon. Seems that's what Bartz did to you xD

Summons are there to help you out in any way possible. They don't do damage, but they will either allow you to do more damage, or make your opponent do less damage.

As the player, you have an obligation to win the match. Don't forget that!

yikes, shiva. i love her when she activates and nulls an enemy EX-burst for me, hate her when i'm on the receiving end of said null. i find bahamut-auto to be not-so-useful, as it only gives a small amount of brave per second. demon wall IS a good summon, think phoenix with the addition of shielding your brave value. alexander is another great summon, if you have a high brave value when it activates.

Bahamut(auto) wouldn't take your brave down to 0.
Bahamut(auto) activates when you do an HP Attack, thus making your brave points go down to 0.
No matter which summon you got, after you do the HP attack then enter EX Burst, your BP would still remain 0 if your enemy had Shiva.

I've had Shiva activate far too often on me when I've gone into an EX burst. It infuriates me. XD Especially if I have Ifrit activate at that point and get enough brave to wipe them out. ;___;
Another summon that ticks me off when I initiate EX Burst is DEmon Wall or Phoenix. xD Breaking them in EX burst oft times gives enough to deliver the final blow.


But half the time, I'm not even paying attention to the summons I have equipped. The only one I actually check on regularly is my main, Onion Knight. xD

I don't care what summon I have on too, unless it's my main.
I only check summons, accessories, equipment, etc. before a big battle. Like the end off the story boss, or if I'm battling someone online.
I only have 4 people I really like using. I could care less about the rest.
I usually equip Leviathan. Because that's my favorite. I've never touch the autos when I get them, I always forget to equip them and try them out. But, ugh, I need to get more non-autos. xP

I used to use summons, but I don't anymore. Instead, I use a Summon Unused booster 8F
Summons are really annoying... like when you have very high bravery, and you suddenly get breaked by Deathgaze summon because your bravery is a multiple of 5 happens a lot in the 1st battle of time attack. Which is annoying when you need to do it in under 15 minutes in order to get Rosetta Stones and Megalixirs.
